DYK for Oei Hui-lan

[edit]

On 5 June 2019, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Oei Hui-lan, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Madame Wellington Koo (pictured), the Chinese-Indonesian First Lady of pre-communist China, was featured as a "woman of style" in a 2015 fashion exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Oei Hui-lan. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Oei Hui-lan), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Oey, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Oei (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

@Scope creep: Hi, I've added an infobox to Kwee Thiam Tjing, but don't know how to include his picture in the article from Wiki Commons Indonesia (https://id.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berkas:Kwee_Thiam_Tjing.jpg). Can you help? Thanks Clara dari Semarang (talk) 07:00, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Clara dari Semarang: It is certainly not the best. It seem to be off the back of book, all google images are the image, some cleaned in different. There doesn't seem to be much in the way in Google Books. Sometimes I manage to get a image out the book. scope_creepTalk 19:28, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Clara dari Semarang:, there is no source information on the image and not on Wikipedia commons. I will need to find out where it came from. I'll do an image search. If person fixed it up somewhat and them uploaded then can't be take across as I don't have the information. I take a look tomorrow. scope_creepTalk 19:32, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Clara dari Semarang:, I did a couple of search on bing and google on the image. It seems to be a standard image that several places, so I can't use that image on the Indonesian Wikipedia as it doesn't have a correct image rationale. What I can do I maybe upload one of these other images for you. This one looks sufficiently large: [1] and I can perhaps get it cleaned up at the Graphics Lab if you want. scope_creepTalk 13:40, 21 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I have left a note with an Graphic lab editor who might be able to do the work. scope_creepTalk 13:46, 21 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Clara dari Semarang} That is the image now uploaded and is the article.@PawełMM: graciously uploaded the image, improved the quality of it and provided a rather excellent PD image rationale, to boot. Good job all round. scope_creepTalk 16:37, 21 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
