Current Opera Project discussions

[edit]

Hello from the Opera Project. I'm writing to all members on the active list to let them know that we could use your input on several issues currently under discussion on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Opera:

  • The use of italics in article titles
  • Possible changes to the article guidelines concerning "Selected Recordings"
  • Suggestions for the July Composer of the Month and Opera of the Month

Please drop by if you have the time. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 08:49, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Message to all members of WikiProject Opera

[edit]

Please see our project's talk page for a discussion of the possible changes to Wikipedia's policy on the biographies of living persons and the implications this will have for many articles under the project's banner. This is especially important if you are looking after or have created unreferenced or minimally referenced opera-related biographies of living people. Sydney meetup

[edit]

Hi, I got your name from this list, and thought you might be interested in a meetup in Sydney at the Alexandria Hotel tomorrow. I hope you can join us. Sorry for the late notice. --99of9 (talk) 11:47, 18 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome back!

Best wishes, Voceditenore (talk) 13:34, 25 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! Glad to be tentatively back - need to re-learn all the Wiki markup and customs etc. But keen to do a bit of translating and help out! Cricketgirl (talk) 18:24, 26 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Bezaubernd

[edit]

Thank you for the Fräulein! Infobox has a more specific meaning, - you see one in the upper right corner of Carmen, and the Fräulein could also have one ;) - I don't know how the box for the roles would be called. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:15, 19 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

you're quite right - I translated that bit literally and forgot to clean it up. I'll sort it out right now. Cricketgirl (talk) 16:55, 19 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The German version has an infobox, you can simply match values with our parameters. Unfortunately the link is a dead link. I think the other translation which I found in another article (now linked, just look at "What links here" under Tools on the left) is a bit better. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:58, 19 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No quibbles from me on the other translation for the title. Cricketgirl (talk) 17:00, 19 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You made my day ;) - I added a few external links. Lexikon and publisher could be made refs. With a bit more sourcing, the article could go to DYK, did you know? (I have no more time today.) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:16, 21 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I started a navbox for Benatzky, looking forward to more duets ;) - Thank you for the Mozart dates and locations which would also be good in an infobox ;) - perhaps ask the project first, with the great servant Dame Voceditenore, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 00:07, 22 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hey!

[edit]

Nice to hear from you. I'm not nearly as active as I once was. I do some stuff here and there. Nothing in particular need of any copy editing but feel free to take a look at any of the stuff I've worked on recently. A second set of eyes never hurts :-) I hope all is well. IvoShandor (talk) 06:34, 21 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your note

[edit]

I'm happy to deal with the article formats etc. Keep up the good work!!

Indeed, Verdi is the best! I'm in the process of working on the final compositions section of the Verdi article which has been lacking for a long, long time....especially as over 30,000 page views per month seem to happen! The end is in sight! Best wishes, Viva-Verdi (talk) 21:30, 21 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Meine Schwester und ich, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Nancy. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. monobook.js

[edit]

Hello, your program monobook.js is currently listed in the "task-force-needed" maintenance category of WikiProject Military History, which I am working on clearing. I don't have the perms or the knowledge to add the task force, but it would be appreciated if you could specify a task force or put the "no-task-force=y" line in.
