Image source problem with Image:TY Peter 1997.jpg

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:TY Peter 1997.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 05:48, 15 April 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ricky81682 (talk) 05:48, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Cyclonebiskit, it would be a great help if you could link directly to the url where you are getting your images from. Someone else might want to know exactly where something like Image:Tornado Reports 2005-2008.png came from. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 05:50, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Tornado intensities

When they were on NWS information statements and local storm reports, I wrote them down and stored them personally. You'd need to do a LOT of research to find them (and even then, the numbers are probably not complete), and of course, they are just preliminary until the Storm Data is released (it is completed to December 2007 as of now, so later in the spring we should have the information for the early season tornadoes and outbreaks). If such a page is created, it should be primarily in list format, and for those with separate articles, a link should be provided beneath the page.

Storm Data will help out once released - but one thing to be careful is that they are listed in the database multiple times if they crossed county lines (as opposed to only once on article pages). CrazyC83 (talk) 18:24, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

just for later..

This image says that it was taken by a sheriff, which is a member of local government and not federal government. I will tag it for deletion because it is likely not public domain. -RunningOnBrains 22:17, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Tornado tables

When you add tornado tables, can you please add a source that clearly links the tornado mentioned and the tropical cyclone? Also, would you be able to go back and add sources for them all? I see you haven't done too many. If it takes over 24 hours, I'll be reverting the changes, at least on the feature articles Tropical Depression Ten (2007) and Tropical Storm Barry (2007), as unreferencing is bad. Cheers ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 23:52, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Ah, I figured it was from NCDC, so close enough. Yea, that works, and thanks a lot for doing it so quickly. 00:38, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Completely agreed. BTW, good call and nice job making the NIO season articles (1995-1999). Any plans to do any earlier? ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 00:52, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Great, take your time. It's great to see some interest in some older seasons. Now if only tornadoes were named, we could keep track of them much easier, like tropical cyclones! :P ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 01:02, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

ACE for WTS 2008

Where are you getting the information on the ACE for 2008 Pacific typhoon season? Did you calculate it yourself? -- RattleMan 03:01, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

When updating the ACE sections for the 2007 AHS and EHS pages, I used a ACE-calculating program that I created which that simplifies the process. You can get the program I made here. It might be easier than using Excel. -- RattleMan 03:46, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
The program has been updated with a new version, available at the site above. It fixes an issue where the columns could misalign when the totals got too large. This'll probably be the last "update" message I'll send out, so be sure to check the site itself for future updates. -- RattleMan 22:42, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

Cyclone Sidr Damage Source

Hey, I see you just changed the damage total for Cyclone Sidr. However, we need a source to verify that claim. ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 17:27, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. I just added it to the lede. ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 00:11, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Just to let you know this image wasn't made by the US Gov't. It was made by the Japanese Government and therefore probably isn't free. -CWY2190(talkcontributions) 17:21, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

I've deleted the above image, as well as Image:Atlanta Motor Speedway Damage 7-6-05.jpg and Image:Orissa Cyclone Flooding.jpg. All three of these images, which you uploaded, were blatant copyright infringements. You cannot upload the copyrighted work of others and release it into the public domain. Being needed by the public is irrelevant to copyright law. - auburnpilot talk 18:23, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

Could you please provide a source for the damage amount you added to Tropical Storm Edouard (2008)? Cheers, –Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 17:07, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

Fair enough, but the season article lacks a source as well. –Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 17:21, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

WikiProject Earthquakes Newsletter (August 2008)

Insured damage estimates

I noticed that you are adding the figures from the "insured damage estimates" into the season total. These figures are based on pre-existing computer models and don't collect actual data from the storm. I have started a discussion here, but I don't think that they should be included as actual damage totals. Plasticup T/C 15:33, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

Hurricane Hernan

Although i cant edit the article i can still read it and according to the Revision History it has not been edited since September 2. Can i change it back and we are not waiting until December to do this.--72.193.254.254 (talk) 03:49, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

FAC removed

I temporarily removed the FAC you submitted because it was malformed and I need time to sort it out; I'll resubmit it as soon as it's sorted. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 02:43, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

You didn't need the do the move: the FAC file was all ready to go. See Wikipedia talk:Featured article candidates#Admin help.2C malformed fac. Since I'm not an admin, I can't fix it, but someone will momentarily. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 02:50, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

Josie

I think that I haven't done "significant contributions" to Josie, All I did was say that it wasn't long enough in the beginning, however I think it is good and I will do the review shortly. --Elena85 | Talk to Me | 1000 edits!!!' 21:03, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

Kiko copyedit

I'll try to squeeze it in somewhere. I've made a couple of other promises I have to follow through on before I commit to more. I see you've already gone to FA, so I'll try to get to this fairly soon. Finetooth (talk) 00:13, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

Flossie rewrite

I think your rewrite for Flossie should be reverted because i been planing to The MH on Flossie and your version for the storm history is pretty good for a start of Flossie MH.--Yellow Evan (talk) 03:11, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
