Surrey Center[edit]

The article Surrey Center has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -- Merope 14:41, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Surrey Centre[edit]

I've nominated Surrey Centre, an article you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that Surrey Centre satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion; I have explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Surrey Centre and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Surrey Centre during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Astrovega 04:41, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributions[edit]

You seem to be adding a good many articles on shopping centers around Atlanta--some of them are probably notable, others not. And I see another editor has been trying to delete all of them, which I think inappropriate. The "power centers" will have to go, --and have gone-- these are simply not appropriate in the absence of something really special to say. But Surrey is probably notable, and Atlanta certainly--and these have also been nominated for deletion. Both need discussion of the likely problems in relationship with the community--roads, development rights, etc. There's usually some interesting politics. Both articles are in need of references from regional papers or other sources, and I would advise you to add them as soon as possible--this is very important. Surrey also needs some basic information such as size and date of construction, and the like.

If you want to help your (probable) clients, I remind you that WP does not favor apparent Conflict of interest--see WP:COI and any articles from such a source will be looked at very critically. If you do add such an article, make certain that it's for something unquestionably important and has good references. If you add weak articles, it casts suspicion about even the strong ones.
There is one other thing you can do to help, for these and in general. If you can provide one good photograph per article, with released copyright under the GFDL license, this is appropriate. But you must follow exactly the licensing requirements at WP:Copyright. All WP content is available for any use, even commercial, and so all rights must be transferred, and in the formal way described there.

Please be careful, otherwise your work will just get deleted. There's no point in adding articles that are sure to be removed. DGG 17:01, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
