Hello, Indevelopmeant, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

Or, you can just type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Sorry, jumped gun on creating page

[edit]

Hello, Wicked Twisted Road (and anyone else out here), Thanks for checking up on me. I think I accidentally published a page I was creating. I really wanted to create a draft of it, flushing out all the content, before actually 'publishing' (?) it for approval. I did launch a wizard, but may have skipped a few steps. I'm okay with deleting the page I 'created' if it means I can start over. I should probably edit my content offline, and then submit. I'm not sure I read correctly, can I create the draft in the sandbox? I have to do more reading on creating a page. I promise that Edgar is worth creating a page over, and there's going to be tons of citations about his work. Theresa Indevelopmeant (talk) 05:40, 24 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are invited to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Jack Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Moreover, I recommend that you read our conflict of interest guideline. Changing your user name

[edit]

Hi Theresa - thanks for your message on my talk page and thanks for getting on to this quickly. Yes, as it says above, you can easily change your username - just click on the blue link in the paragraph above that says "this form" and it should be straightforward to follow the steps to do that. Please also have a read of wikipedia's Conflict of Interest guidelines and note that if you are editing wikipedia as part of your work, you are required to disclose that. If you have other questions, please ask. Cheers, Melcous (talk) 07:16, 24 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your explanation, and for taking the time to understand the guidelines. (I'm glad you seem to be enjoying wiki-editing too - a word of warning, it can be quite addictive!) If you are planning to write about your friend and colleague you do still have a conflict of interest, so I would suggest you create a draft rather than an article - this means you can work on it over time, adding references as you find them, and also getting feedback from experienced editors if you like. Then it will be reviewed by someone else before it is added to the main encyclopaedia, which means it is much less likely to face deletion as any issues will already have been addressed. Cheers, Melcous (talk) 07:29, 24 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, actually the easiest thing would be if I move the page you started to a draft and then you work on it. So, I have done that for you, if you now go to Draft:Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez you can edit there.
One suggestion on what you've got so far, the line "Above all he is a proud Nuyorican" is not encyclopaedic - you can note someone's nationality and heritage, but it should be done in a neutral/factual way. I've added your draft to my watchlist so as you edit it I can have a look and give you feedback if you like. Cheers, Melcous (talk) 07:41, 24 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
To answer your other question, don't worry about the article you created, it is still marked for deletion (that has to be done by an administrator) so that will happen in due course. Feel free to ask more questions as you have them - it can be a lot to get your head around at first, but you definitely have the right attitude so I'm sure you will be fine.
