Hi there, welcome to Wikipedia! However, please do not link common words in articles—See WP:CONTEXT. Thank you.--Sean Black (talk) 01:00, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I notice that you've been aggressively linking common words in a very large number of articles. Be advised that this pattern is starting to look like vandalism, especially when you re-link words after another editor has undone your changes. I'm assuming for now that this is an honest mistake, but if it continues, expect people to start issuing vandalism warnings to you. --Christopher Thomas 05:47, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please leave dates in the format, 'July 3', rather than modifying them to read 'July 3rd'. This allows the dates to be displayed in different formats and bypasses a redirect. Let me know if you want a better explanation. Thanks! --Yamla 21:01, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I.N. -- You keep adding links to common words in various articles, like "...head, muscular physique, and deep, textured baritone voice." Most people know what a "head" is, and what "muscular" and "physique" and "voice" mean, so it's silly to add links to those words. The one word there that wasn't linked before you added your edit was "baritone", and that was appropriate, since many people only have a vague idea what that word means. Please try to give some thought to which words you add links to. Thanks! KarlBunker 21:13, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Stop linking to common words, as you did in edible salt. I see you were warned already that this pattern of editing can be construed as vandalism. That's true. If you keep it up you may be blocked from editing.

Stop linking to common words, as you did in San Jose Sharks. Also, please refrain adding unnecessary information to an article, again as you did in San Jose Sharks. You have been previously warned that this pattern of editing can be construed as vandalism. If you keep it up you may be blocked from editing. Tachyon01 20:51, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Overlinking

[edit]

You have been warned, and you chose to blank your talk page in an apparent attempt to hide the evidence. I have reverted that and will block you if you ignore the warnings or remove these notices. Vsmith 23:46, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WHY!? DOES IT MATTER!!??

[edit]

WHO CARES if I'm trying to help people by providing links to other articles that ARE importnat and ARE relevant!?

Please read Wikipedia:Only make links that are relevant to the context. Basically, we all find this sort of thing ugly. —Bunchofgrapes (talk) 23:58, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

UGLY!?

[edit]

Your snobbery is not my concern, if I feel a word SHOULD be linked then it SHOULD! And I can back up and explain the reasons for EVERY word I've linked!!!

In this edit, you changed "light grey" to "light grey". Go look at the light article, then tell me how that's useful.
If you feel a word SHOULD be linked but the consensus on wikipedia disagrees, then it shouldn't. And continued disruptive editing will lead to a block.

Bunchofgrapes (talk) 00:21, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You have been given a short block. You seem to be defying the fair warnings given above by overlinking in house during the discussion. Your link to "mice" for instance indicates a lack of concern for the result (mice links to an ambiguation page). The block is only for one hour, please feel free to return and edit responsibly after it ends. Vsmith 00:58, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies

[edit]

Please accept my apology if you felt I was being rude or hard-headed.

I will thoroughly examine and think through whether or not a link or any other edit really needs be added.

Welcome!

Hello Invincible Ninja, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, some of your edits have not conformed to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy, and have been reverted. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media.

There's a great page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Wikipedia Boot Camp, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

Summarising

Please use edit summaries. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 07:22, 5 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries

[edit]

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. Λυδαcιτγ(TheJabberwock) 03:17, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Blade Soundtrack

[edit]

If you want to debate the soundtrack listing on the Blade article, talk about it in the discussion page and please refrain from using insults. Also, if you need to practice on how to make a listing, use the sandbox. --The Scourge 23:53, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You added the official soundtrack with a source, fine. That doesn't give you the right to delete the one I provided (Which is the soundtrack heard WITHIN the film, not the one consumers can purchase). THAT is considered vandalism. --The Scourge 01:10, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you REMEMBER, I TRIED to amke 2 seperate sections, but SOMEBODY deleted the OSL alltogether.

You didn't make two seperate headers, you modified the one I provided. Don't twisted around. Enough of this. Both listings are up, both show sources. Let's leave it at that. --The Scourge 02:08, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add commentary and your personal analysis of an article into Wikipedia articles. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. Your edit to The Dark Knight

[edit]

None of the citations about Sean Penn being a possibility for the Joker are actually valid. The word of anonymous scoopers are not valid. Unless you can provide a citation where Sean Penn himself, the studio, the director, the producer, or other actors have mentioned that Penn was in the running, then he is not article-worthy. This is why Paul Bettany, Robin Williams, etc are included -- because they actually said something to the media. Anyone can say anything about who would be a Joker possibility. There was a vicious rumor a while ago about Adam Sandler being a possibility for the Joker, with similar anonymous citations -- do you think that's valid, too? If you have a problem with the editors preventing a mention of Sean Penn in the article, discuss it on the talk page. --Erik 20:44, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Pspp.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Pspp.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 03:12, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

Read Fair use policy before adding any more images

[edit]

Any improperly tagged images are just going to get turfed by Wikipedia brass. They especially frown upon Photobucket and Webshots as sources for pics. Read the Fair Use policy. It's quite clear on what is right and what is wrong. After a week images that aren't legal get deleted automatically and orphanbot just leaves a blank space. Before you waste anymore of your time get an understanding of that policy. It'll really help you. Good luck 142.166.123.82 02:43, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

DON'T WORRY IT'S O.K. to use???? That's not going to hold any power with the Admins. It was just another Speedy Delete. Read the policy. Your just putting a lot of work into something thats going to get deleted. Don't try to lie about the tag either. Sooner or later the admins check all images to see if proper permissions are there. IF they see a user lying about the image tag...the user will get blocked from editing. 142.166.234.17 02:53, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Ron McGovney.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Ram-Man (comment) (talk) 16:55, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You have nominated this page for speedy deletion on the basis that it is unsoursed, but that's not a valid criteria, have a look at WP:SPEEDY for speedy deletion criteria. If you want you can tag the page with {{unsourced}} to mark that it has no references. If you still want it deleted, have a read of Wikipedia:Deletion--Konstable 21:14, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion notice

[edit]

A tag has been placed on The Sword (band), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Seraphimblade 23:30, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on I Married a Witch (2007 film), by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because I Married a Witch (2007 film) fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

IMDB no longer lists the film

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting I Married a Witch (2007 film), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate I Married a Witch (2007 film) itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 03:13, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Sexnmoney.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:00, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Fire in the Sky (Ozzy Osbourne song) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
