famousbirthdays.com is not a reliable source

I'm in the process of removing famousbirthdays.com as a source from Wikipedia, because it's not reliable (See Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard/Archive_153#Is_famousbirthdays.com_a_reliable_source_for_personal_information). I found your name at Category:User js (probably because you posted the corresponding userbox on your user page), in the level-unspecified list of JavaScript programmers.

I was wondering how experienced you are at JavaScript, and whether you might be interested in getting involved with developing user scripts, hobnobbing with other JavaScript programmers, and organizing and improving JavaScript articles and support pages.

We do all of that and more at the JavaScript WikiProject.

Alice Ripley page

Hello. Is there a way for us to talk privately on Wiki? I'm the person who deleted the section from her page and the talk page. I read all that you wrote - thank you for that. My first question is what to do about there now being false info/implication on the talk page. You're suggesting I'm Alice Ripley; am I reading that correctly? I'm happy to provide identifying info if that would lead you to amend what you wrote. Second question is because I don't know much about IPs. It may make my above question moot. Alice is in Barcelona, Spain right now. If she indeed edited her Wiki, would it show her U.S. residence or current location? Thanks. I hadn't seen your post on Alice's talk page yet. I mean this sincerely, not sarcastically: Why is her statement never posted on the bio or talk page, over the past nearly-a-year of editing? Isn't that something that should be quoted to create a balanced view? It's sometimes mentioned and sourced, but it's the allegations that are spelled out. Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;

However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. Forum type posts at Gaza genocide article

I am now making this a formal request that you cease posting unnecessarily combative and forumy type posts at the article. That's not what talk pages are for, they are for improving the article, with sources as appropriate. You definitely were not following editorial and behavioural best practice and you were clearly disregarding the talk page guidelines (see "comply with all applicable policies and guidelines", by clearly I mean it took me 5 minutes to find examples in your post that violated 80% of the listed guidelines). Your original post was an emotionally driven rant. It was not productive and negatively impacted the editing environment. You failed to comply with etiquette, (by my count) 4/5ths of the talk page guidelines and by extention the contentious topics procedures. They aren't optional, you MUST follow them if you want to edit or be active on talk pages of contentious topics.
You might disagree with the content of the article; that's fine. You can do that in a productive manner if you read and take to heart the procedures I've linked. Thank you kindly for your opinion on my contributions of late. I have reviewed the linked resources. I believe my conduct was in line with the listed policies. I behaved cordially and with respect. I highlighted areas in which NPOV was not being respected. I cited specific Wikipedia policies and proposed changes to the article before barrelling ahead with such, given that it is such a controversial subject. I would appreciate specific examples of how I violated Wikipedia policies. No, I'm not rules lawyering or seeking to take advantage of some sort of loophole. I'm genuinely curious.
I also noticed that you deleted all of my legitimate concerns about the content and structure of the article from the talk page, as well as all replies, in edits euphemistically referring to that as "cleaning up" the talk page. I am not sure that's appropriate behavior. I don't intend to seek to reverse it. I would suggest more caution in taking such actions in the future. Other Wikipedians, including frequent editors and at least one admin, engaged responsibly in that thread on matters of content and organization of the article.
One of the substantive edits I made to the article has been reverted, with the editor advising seeking a talk page consensus before forging ahead. I've again posted on that article's talk page to suggest that edit. Feel free to monitor that discussion to ensure it remains within the bounds of Wikipedia policy as you understand it.
