A tag has been placed on Category:Rusyns drafts indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. Liz Read! Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Steve Ditko, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Rusyn. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 05:59, 2 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Signature

[edit]

Hi KaerbaqianRen, welcome to Wikipedia. I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to change your custom signature. Our guidelines for signature appearance do not allow block level elements like <div>, that produce line breaks, and floating your signature to the right breaks the conventional visual flow of threads. Please remove the <div> tag so that your signature displays inline in the paragraph where it belongs. Thanks. – Joe (talk) 14:06, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

All good, I reviewed the rules before making these changes--didn't catch this. Will update sig when on desktop. Thanks for the FYI. --💬KaerbaqianRen 17:49, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Rusyn Wikipedians requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. * Pppery * it has begun... 14:11, 26 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Pppery: Can you explain how this category met the criteria? Page is now deleted and I have no reference. What is the deletion discussion you are referencing? KaerbaqianRen💬 17:54, 26 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
A category populated by Template:User Rusyn was deleted in June 2021 per Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2021 June 10#Category:Rusyn Wikipedians. The category you created was not meaningfully different from that category, and therefore qualified for speedy deletion under criterion G4. * Pppery * it has begun... 17:57, 26 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Pppery: Thank you, I wasn't aware of that discussion. I'll update the template accordingly. KaerbaqianRen💬 18:03, 26 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Pppery: I took another look at the category you are referencing; I disagree with your assessment. There is a distinction here: one is in reference to language the other is in reference to ethnicity. See Category:Slovenian_Wikipedians and Category:User_sl. KaerbaqianRen💬 18:17, 26 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Remember this: a user category is appropriate if it has the capacity to facilitate coordination and collaboration between users for the improvement of the encyclopedia. Language categories serve a clear collaborative purpose. Ethnicity categories are somewhat dubious on that respect (and the idea of nominating them all for deletion has crossed my mind a few times). What distinguishes Category:Rusyn Wikipedians from others like Category:Slovenian Wikipedians is that it is an ancestry category (Template:User Rusyn says This user is of Rusyn ancestry). These categories are even less useful than ethnicity categories, and have been repeatedly deleted at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion.
Anyway, you can't change anything by convincing me at this point; if you believe that the G4 deletion was incorrect you'll have to discuss it with the deleting admin or go to deletion review. * Pppery * it has begun... 19:28, 26 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Good Olfactory: Pinging you in regards to your deletion on June 10th of Category:Rusyn Wikipedians. This user category should be reinstated as it has the capacity to facilitate coordination between members of the Rusyns diaspora in contributing to topics of a uniquely Rusyn focus--especially some very niche topics, e.g.: Category:Rusyn villages, Lemko Republic, World Congress of Rusyns. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Rovné (District of Svidník) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Broken reference in „Lemko Region”

[edit]

Hello! I noticed you added a citation to something called „Magocsi 2016” to this article, but it doesn’t point to any reference. Did you forget to add it? Cheers! MichaelTheSlav (talk) 09:47, 18 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@MichaelTheSlav yes, looks like i did. it should be pointing to "With Their Backs to the Mountains" by Magocsi. If you wouldn't mind adding it, i'd appreciate it as i dont know when i'll have the chance. KaerbaqianRen💬 22:16, 18 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
