Hello, I just want bring to your attention that User:WHSV3 namesake is television station WHSV-TV 3. I am not sure if this person is from that station, or just likes it, but if it is the former, so of their edits might run into COI territory. Again, I don't know if the person if from WHSV-TV 3 or not, but I thought it should be brought to your attention, as you have had some contact with this user. Take Care....NeutralHomer T:C 05:04, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I, personally, don't think it is, but I know some anchors, reporters and the like from stations do edit on Wikipedia (one example, a reporter from WYMT-TV edits that page often). Just erring on the side of caution. Take Care and Have a Great Wednesday...NeutralHomer T:C 05:15, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WHSV-TV

[edit]

Just to let you know, the person who edits the WHSV3 page is from WHSV TV 3. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.120.217.110 (talk) 17:12, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well thank you for the information, although I'm not quite sure which user you're referring to considering many editors contribute to the WHSV3 article. If you are sure that conflict of interest has occurred please refer to Wikipedia:Conflict of Interest for further information. However, we where more concerned that due to the similarities between your username and that of the television station that you where affiliated with the network personally and would violate COI. K.H (talk) 17:39, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Furthermore attempting to make edits as an IP in order to mask your username identity is considered sock puppetry and strictly prohibited. If you wish to make accusations against those you have had conflicts with please do it while signed into your account, otherwise I'll assume you're only trying to frame another user due to your history with the latter and consider your intentions and argument, well, "rubbish". Well, That Worked Out Real Well

[edit]

Got this on my talk page. Didn't mean to scare the guy off or upset him. I just didn't want anyone to run into a COI situation. :( - NeutralHomer talk|edits 04:48, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think we all get annoyed sometimes with some users, I have too. I hope he doesn't leave for good either. He could edit, really, any page outside WHSV-TV, if he does work for them. Though, I think you handled the situation just fine :) Take Care...NeutralHomer talk|edits 12:12, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Can you help me with this article. I seem to be fighting a losing battle against the constant adding of unsourced material from an IP who will not communicate with me. Asher196 (talk) 23:06, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

User talk:Cameron Tate appears to be the IP user. Very frustrating to deal with as they do not communicate. Asher196 (talk) 01:04, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Clock

[edit]

I indefblocked him. Thanks for the heads up. Cheers! J.delanoygabsadds 05:09, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I really don't think that's necessary now, there are only a couple of vandalism edits. If he returns and vandalizes a lot more, you may want to make a report on Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. J.delanoygabsadds 05:14, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Newgrounds

Thanks for your help with the NG page. It requires a lot of maintenance and as it gets chopped around it gets rewritten in a less than encylcopedic way. I like the improvements you have done. My work is rather hasty and yours has improved the encyclopedic style. Please do keep this on your watchlist, along with the rest of us, and see if you can find a few citations for us. Thanks

Welcome! I am no expert in wikipedia; Indeed not on the internet as a whole. I know a few things, though: The article is written largely by NG users without considering what an outsider would want to know. You and I have improved it quite a bit but it could, as you say, be improved by starting from scratch. Is there a standard format for pages about internet sites? Whilst obviously we should be looking for external references to valid such things as site stats, member stats etc. notability of site, if possible, it would still make sense to consider references/links from within the site if they are the most helpful. What would people want to know about NG from wikipedia that they wouldn't go to NG itself for. I am not going to be able to do a major piece of work here, but if you wish to ask around, get some ideas, make a plan and put it on the Discussion page of NG with a planned date for redoing the page, I will back you and review whatever you propose in detail. If you make an alternative page on your own user page, which I am told is one way to do it, we can tinker with it first. Bullet point lists of what people would like to see on the page would be good:

  • pictures
  • comparative stats with other sites
  • link to Tom Fulp Page (please join in on that Discussion)
  • ?
  • ?
  • ?

This is a popular page and deserves work.

Are you an NG user/member? I am a member and author under the same name. Check me out!

I notice you and I have a lot in common, including the fact that I am a (published) writer and I have had the first short film made based on my work. I like a lot of the same music as you too! Best Wishes,

Ever heard about Pier Gerlofs Donia? This article on the greatest Frisian of all time is currently a candidate for GA-class. You care to help the wikiProject Fryslan out here by reviewing it? Just a request, thanks in advanche,

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
