Thanks for uploading File:Armorforsleeplogo.gif. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.

Orphaned non-free media (File:New Found Glory.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:New Found Glory.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:10, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not Without a Fight

Hey, could you stop adding those reviews and removing the Spin review? The Music Magazine and The Album Project aren't notable, and hence shouldn't be included. And frankly, I'm not entirely sure why you removed the Spin review. Anyway, please let me know if you have any problems with my edits rather than just reverting them again. I don't want to start an edit war. Rwiggum (Talk/Contrib) 00:16, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The main difference is that Spin meets Wikipedia's notability guidelines. The Album Project, Punknews, and The Music Magazine do not. Rwiggum (Talk/Contrib) 00:29, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload new images, however, it appears that one or more of the images you have recently uploaded, specifically File:New Found Glory.jpg, may fail our non-free image policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading a copyrighted image of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free image criteria. Please note that we take very seriously our criteria on non-free image uploads. Disputed fair use rationale for File:Nfg promo.jpg}

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Nfg promo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Non-free images of living persons -- please stop

[edit]

Please do not upload any more images without familiarizing yourself with Wikipedia's non-free content criteria. Specifically, criterion #1: No free equivalent, which says that "Non-free content is used only where no free equivalent is available, or could be created, that would serve the same encyclopedic purpose." For this reason, fair-use images of living persons (including active musical groups) that are used merely to show what they look like are specifically prohibited on Wikipedia, because a free image could reasonably be created that would convey the same information. See examples of unacceptable use in Wikipedia's non-free content guidelines: "Pictures of people still alive, groups still active, and buildings still standing; provided that taking a new free picture as a replacement (which is almost always considered possible) would serve the same encyclopedic purpose as the non-free image. This includes non-free promotional images."

Specifically, I am talking about the non-free images of New Found Glory that you have uploaded. So far, you have used a picture from the back cover of their new album and a promotional photo/poster image, both non-free images claimed under fair use, merely to show what they look like in the infobox. This is unacceptable. New Found Glory is an active band made up of living persons. A free image of them could easily be created by taking a picture of them at a show and uploading it under a free license. An image like this would be completely free from copyright concerns. Therefore any non-free image of them that is used merely for identification (ie. in the infobox) will be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. If you wish to illustrate the article, please focus your efforts on locating free images of them, which are always welcome. --IllaZilla (talk) 00:20, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

New Found Glory

[edit]

Hello, I noticed that in a recent edit you removed cited material from the New Found Glory article. While I realize you may not have agreed with the material in question, it was backed be several third party sources. You may not have been aware, but removing cited information from articles is seen as an act of vandalism and can potentially result in getting you blocked. Please refrain from removing cited information in the future. Thanks. Aurum ore (talk) 06:24, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

One question!

[edit]

Hey! I'm creating the Fightstar's article in Wikipedia in [1]. I recently saw that you've changed the photo in the Fightstar's article here in the Wikipedia in English. Following the Wikipedia rules (that say "you can only upload photos if they don't violate any copyright,.. bla bla bla" it means that you're Fightstar or someone who can upload their pictures/images.

So my question is can you make them able to be in other languages in wikipedia such as catalan? I want to change the photo that is now posted in this language.

Thanks and regards from Barcelona!--Layonard (talk) 23:35, 12 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pop Punk

[edit]

Hey, I saw that you've been changing "pop punk" to "punk pop" on several articles, including Pop punk itself. This is incorrect, the standard and correct terminology is "pop punk." Rwiggum (Talk/Contrib) 20:56, 13 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks.--Layonard (talk) 14:22, 27 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Kerrang screenies

[edit]

Hey! As much as I'm enjoying the free Kerrang reviews in the Flickr images, you don't need to (or shouldn't) include them in references. Just use the correct Wikipedia:Citation templates and there's no need for an online image. I think this may also be a copyright issue, as the images on Flickr would be copyrighted to the magazine, not the poster (you!). Cheers and neat work on the Fightstar articles! k.i.a.c (talktome - contribs) 12:09, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Copy-and-paste page moves

[edit]

Hello, LostLikeTearsInRain. Concerning your contribution, Only Revolutions (album), a page move cannot be done by simply copying and pasting the contents of a page into a new location, as such a process does not transfer the page's edit history and therefore violates the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL). As a violation of the page move process, Only Revolutions (album) needs to be temporarily deleted under the speedy deletion criteria so that the page you intended to move may be properly moved in a way that will preserve its edit history. Only Revolutions (album) has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message. If not, please refrain from editing either the page you intended to move or Only Revolutions (album) until the latter has been deleted according to Wikipedia's speedy criterion G6 (non-controversial housekeeping).

If you did not intend to make a page move, then please insert the {{hangon}} tag right below the {{db-copypaste}} tag in Only Revolutions (album) and state your intentions on Talk:Only Revolutions (album). An administrator will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do. Thank you for your contributions. Reach Out to the Truth 21:51, 25 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rock Sound top albums of the year

Hello! I noticed your edit to Daisy, and was wondering if you have a copy of that issue of Rock Sound? I am working on a similar section for Converge's Axe to Fall, and am starting to collect sources on the talk page. Thanks for uploading File:Searchanddestroyrecords.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. — ξxplicit 00:46, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:FSCityonfirescreenshot.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:FSCityonfirescreenshot.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk 03:09, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, Radiosurgery (album)

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Radiosurgery (album). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Radiosurgey (album). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Radiosurgey (album) - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Cind.amuse 09:53, 13 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've gone ahead and redirected to the artist's article. As an unreleased album, lacking a confirmed drop date, the article fails notability. There are additional concerns over the crystal content. You can find our specific guidelines here. Once you have sufficient verifiable and properly referenced information, i.e., release date, along with track information, we can create the article in the same article space. Please note that we cannot use forums and blogs to support the article. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Best regards, Cind.amuse 11:56, 13 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited New Found Glory, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Godfathers (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Thank you for your contributions. Please remember to mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Radiosurgery (album), as "minor" only if they truly are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes, or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. You also failed to leave an edit summary. Walter Görlitz (talk) 15:11, 5 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Parallels (song)

[edit]

The article Parallels (song) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No non-primary references, no claim of notability, fails WP:NSONG and WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
