Apology.

[edit]

Luigi, Please disregard my last post on your page. I wish to apologize to you, as I didn't assume good faith in your edits to birth days. I am sincerely sorry. It seems that you were being a very good Wiki gnome and being very helpful. I was confused because you were not using any sort of references for your changes and thought you were probably being a vandal. In the future, please try to use references so that maybe others don't make the same mistake. Once again, I apologize. I have reverted my reverts. If you need anything in the future, please don't hesitate to ask. Cheers! ExRat (talk) 03:07, 3 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

BLP question

Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for violations of Wikipedia's biographies of living persons policy.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 16:07, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

As clearly as possible, preferably one sentence, can you tell me what source in the article supports this change in date.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 15:53, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Well, apparently-- David J. Gunkel's Birth Date was shown as September 9, 1962 above his Personal Information displayed above the search results of his on Google when I went on there to look up his Birth Date last night... so, that was pretty much all I could find for his current Birth Date. But since no other website sources were found to prove that obviously was his official Birth Date, we'll just leave him out of the 1962 Births Category for right now until then.

And YES, I completely do seem to understand Wikipedia's policies regarding reliable sources, biographies of living persons, and dates of birth in articles by now-- ever since I was unblocked and officially able to get back to doing my important edits on articles... so-- I really don't want to be blocked NOR have any need to be blocked even longer from making any more of these edits of correctly modifiying Birth Date+Years and other stuff on Wikipedia for a second time at all, just because I made a few mistakes with not providing a source from a certain particular website or more giving proof for some of the Birth Dates I found, which haven't yet been found with his/her correctly modified Birth Date+Year. And therefore... please give me another chance to do everything I possibly can at doing everything I said that I'd do when modifying Famous People's Birth Dates+Years with the correct date when I unfortunately was blocked from making any more edits for this whole past week until this Tuesday-- and THIS time, I'll really try hard to do my best without making any more of those mistakes ever again for the rest of my life. Once you're able to unblock me and let be get back to doing my important edits on Wikipedia... then-- I will be very proud and happy. Because I really don't wish to be blocked from making any more of these edits with correctly modifying someone's Birth Dates+Years with the correct ones and other stuff on Wikipedia anymore. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Luigi Laitinen (talkcontribs) 21:46, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Google years of birth are often based on our own data or data from other user generated sources. This is the issue: you are not using reliable sources. TonyBallioni (talk) 21:48, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That you can state "I completely do seem to understand Wikipedia's policies regarding reliable sources, biographies of living persons, and dates of birth in articles by now" while making edits such as this with the edit summary "No source(s) needed because this Birth Date is officially correct" demonstrates that you very much do not understand. I spent hours cleaning up the mess and have no intention of doing so again.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 21:57, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I understand that (besides pretty much everything else for this matter) too, man. But-- the main reason I'd actually say that is because pretty much all the websites told me/us that whatever Birth Date I modified with the right one for which ever person I looked up who I thought had the wrong Birth Date, was officially correct for that matter; which gives me no need to provide a source, in that case (which, in my opinion, really wouldn't be that necessary to do for that matter-- just as long as you know that pretty much every website says it's really correct for sure, of course)... after discovering that no certain website(s) and its source(s) (with proof that his/her Birth Date I somehow re-modified with the correct one was really right, while almost all other websites say different for that matter) were available NOR found for me to provide on the articles of those who I thought had the incorrect and unmatched Birth Date. So-- once again... if I find a certain website or more which actually proves his/her Birth Date that I somehow re-modified with the correct one is really right, while noticing that almost all the other websites say different about it for that matter... I'll provide a source from certain various websites that prove it. And-- if I don't see OR find a certain website and its source that proves their Birth Date I somehow re-modified with the correct one is really right AND notice that pretty much all the other websites tell us that it's officially correct for sure... then there won't be any need for me to provide a website source, in that case. Since I told you it's really not (NOR wouldn't be) that necessary in my opinion to do so (under certain particular conditions) for this matter.

And also-- if I can't find a certain website (or more) that proves his/her Birth Date+Year I re-modified with the right one (which also was sometimes pre-modified by somebody else with the right date+year) is really correct... I basically will just leave the Birth Date written on the article as it is, and then wait until a certain website and its source comes in on the internet, which actually gives proof about the famous person's correctly re-modified Birth Date+Year for that matter. Or else-- I, for one, will just temporarily remove the article (which doesn't have a correctly modified Birth Date+Year for him/her yet) and their Birth Date+Year, from whichever Birth Year Category it's in, and then basically keep it in the category containing those of the people whose Birth Year(s)+Date(s) are unknown AND haven't yet been modified with their correct official Birth Date from a certain specific year they were born, until then... if no websites are found to prove and tell us the specific Birth Date OR Year that's really correct.

- And above all... now-- I'm REALLY ready to be unblocked and to get straight back to doing a variety of my very important edits on Wikipedia. Since I just made my 100% promise not to ever make another one of these silly mistakes like I had made last night (to somehow make me get blocked unexpectedly) again for the rest of my life AND to keep on trying my best with doing everything that I said I'd do when modifying Famous People's Birth Dates (and sometimes years) with the correct ones that are really right. I don't want to get blocked/end up getting blocked from making any more of those edits and more on Wikipedia ever again... and being blocked is no fun, as we know it. Thank you very much for being a good man and understanding my whole story; based on the matter of this important situation.

Request reason:

Okay. Now-- I'm REALLY ready to be unblocked and to get straight back to doing a variety of my very important edits on Wikipedia. Since I just made my 100% promise not to ever make another one of these silly mistakes like I had made two nights ago (to somehow make me get blocked unexpectedly) again for the rest of my life AND to keep on trying my best with doing everything that I said I'd do when modifying Famous People's Birth Dates (and sometimes years) with the correct ones that are really right. But-- don't you guys worry, because as of today AND fully onward... I'm REALLY going to do an even better job on this editing process of mine than ever before (and yet just as good as I've pretty much always been doing at my very best when modifying Famous People's Birth Dates (and sometimes years) on Wikipdia with the correct ones that are really right, so far) for that matter.

Decline reason:

Pretty clear from the above that you don't understand your responsibilities under WP:RS and WP:CITE. This isn't a one-time mistake, either. You'll need to clearly explain your responsibilities under these policies, and give specific examples of a reliable source, in order to be unblocked. Yamla (talk) 21:20, 24 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

@Yamla: Don't worry, buddy. I promise that from now on when I provide various website sources; based on what officially gives proof about his/her Birth Date+Year with the correct one that's really right, while if by chance pretty much all other websites actually say different about it for that matter... I will try hard and make sure that I ask if whether or not these various specific sources are appropriate AND reliable for me to provide under these conditions.

That's not enough. Please reread WP:RS. Until you convince us you understand WP:RS, which you clearly don't right now, you will not be unblocked. So, reread WP:RS, summarise WP:RS in your own owns, and give specific examples of a reliable source which cites someone's birthdate. --Yamla (talk) 21:58, 24 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Alright. I read as much information as I could in some of the WP:RS articles; based on the matter of this situation with me modifying Famous People's Birth Dates (and sometimes Years) with the correct ones that are really right... so-- by now, I think I pretty much understand and have everything about the matter of this situation down pat. And... now I'm REALLY ready to be unblocked for sure, so that I can get back to doing a lot of my very important edits right here on Wikipedia.

Remember... one of my main responsibilities of all under these policies will be for me to try and provide at least one website source that gives proof about the fact of which his/her Birth Dates (and sometimes Years) re-modified with the one that's really right, from now on. That's REALLY all I have to explain, just for THAT second matter.

Talk page access revoked

I've removed your talk page access since you just keep saying the same thing over and over again without explaining what our policy was and why you were blocked or showing any understanding of it. If you want to appeal your block, you can do it through WP:UTRS. TonyBallioni (talk) 20:24, 25 May 2018 (UTC) [reply]
