Hi, sorry for the late reply. You can add an image by Insert > Images and media from the top bar, which should let you pick any images from Commons. You can add an external link by clicking the "add link" icon in the top bar, which looks like a figure eight, and then selecting external link. Though note that the external link policy usually discourages them, and in most cases you should add a citation or have no link at all. Rusalkii (talk) 20:28, 20 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! You definitely don't need to run any kind of server yourself to add citations. In the visual editor, you should see a button in the top bar that looks like a quotation mark. If you click it, you should get a box to enter a URL in, at which point for most websites and links to books it'll generate one for you automatically. Sorry, I don't speak Dutch and I'm not sure what you are asking. English Wikipedia doesn't translate family names. You may want to try asking at the Dutch Wikipedia.

In the visual editor, you can go to "Insert" -> Images and media in the top bar. This will let you search through commons for a picture, or upload your own. If you do upload a picture, make sure it's uploaded with a compatible license -- something you took yourself which you can release, or something clearly labeled by the authors as public domain, CC-by-SA, or other license from this list: Wikipedia:File copyright tags/Free licenses. Referencing a Wikipedia article[edit]

My previous discussion with you is now archived in May 2024. I discussed editing existing articles and the possibility of posting an already-written article on Wikipedia about myself (not written by anyone I know). You kindly suggested that I post the article and that you will take a look it for possible posting on Wikipedia. Before doing that, I want to include a reference to an existing Wikipedia article. How would I do that? Is there a specific format for that? Note that in our previous exchange you told me that I should login before sending messages. @Joerut if by "reference" you mean a citation to prove a fact, you should not cite wikipedia articles. Instead, cite whatever the article that you're looking at uses as a source. Good point! The Wikipedia article that I wanted to cite did not provide a source for a statement that it made. I have also added it to the article about me, putting the link in double brackets, as in [[Example]] above.
