Re: Millions

[edit]

One, It's not the India government that defines what is poverty in that country. Other sources like the CIA worldfact book, which happens to be an American source, says that poverty in India is in the millions, as no country on earth has poverty in the billions. Also, seeing how only 27% of the population of India live under what is considered the poverty line in other countries of the world, including the west, it's impossible for there to be billions of people in India, or other countries to have billions of people living below the poverty line in their country. Also, we're not doing what people in the west consider poverty in the west. What experts consider people in poverty and what just average people in the West consider poverty are two entirely different things. The entire thing in the west of how billion of people live in poverty is a sterotype among regular people. Lastly, if you read the YaleGlobal online magazine, you'll see why it's related to the article, plus, I didn't choose the article, I think one of the usual people in the International Relations project chose it, and it explains why India might not be a superpower. Power in International Relations wikiproject

[edit]

Hey, remember me. I was wondering, you made lots of helpful contributions to pages that fall under the Power in International Relations wikiproject. Would you be interested in joining the project? Deavenger (talk) 20:25, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for joining and welcome to the wikiproject. Help watch over the articles, improve the articles, and all that good stuff. Especially the Superpower and Potential Superpowers articles, as from users, it's become the battlefield of many edit wars and all that stuff. See you on the pages. Deavenger (talk) 22:48, 5 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, if you want some good debating experience, as well as giving some help, just check out the talk page of the Potential Superpowers page. Some guy is trying to add Pakistan since India is on the list, despite that a while ago, we debated his points, he didn't post any sources, and I did 17 hours of searching and didn't find one reliable person mentioning Pakistan as a potential superpower. Anyway, if you want to join in, just check out the talk page. Deavenger (talk) 01:30, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Faction France 1224492051 3885.jpg}

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Faction France 1224492051 3885.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Faction Sweden 1225732563 2124.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Faction Sweden 1225732563 2124.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:14, 10 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Eastern Partnership.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. — neuro(talk)(review) 18:03, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Subsections

[edit]

Yeah. The only source I own is the Second World by Parag Khanna, all the main points have been added. Most of my sources talk about China, then I have a few online sources that I'll put up in my subsection page a little later. I'll add what I have of China there and finish it up quickly. I'll also have a start in Russia and EU subsection there, so any other users can add the subsections. Deavenger (talk) 18:02, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Goodbye

[edit]

Hey Swedish. As of today, I'm retiring from wikipedia editing due to real life concerns such as my studies. I highly doubt that I will be coming back. However, I want to say it's been a real honor working with you. If you need anything for the potential superpower page or any other related pages, it should be on my user page. And if you ever want to talk, you can still email me.

Let's add Brazil?

[edit]

In this list are cited three of the BRICs, but is lacking Brazil. Not to mention that the other Wikipedias Brazil is Elaboration.

Potential Superpowers

[edit]

Hi, I've recommended to the IP with which you are edit warring that you two should discuss, so it's only fair I say the same to you. May I suggest adding a note on their talk or taking it to the content noticeboard? RaseaC (talk) 17:00, 5 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you forgot to include an edit summary in your last edit. Any chance of one here? Thanks, RaseaC (talk) 21:58, 6 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ah yes, I see it now. Thanks RaseaC (talk) 16:17, 7 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Potential superpower

[edit]

My position is pretty similar to yours. I think we need to serious academic work in order to justify a new section. So far, only the EU and China have sections backed up by authoritative sources. Nirvana888 (talk) 19:46, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Blue Water Navy

[edit]

Hi there Swedish pirate, we could use your help over at the Blue water navy talk page. The situation appears to be esclating and I feel the opinion of an experienced editor would be valuable.

The situation is this; the user Bcs09 objects to this edit,

(Original text) "The United Kingdom has recently retired the Harrier jets that fly from the nations aircraft carriers, leaving the Royal Navy without a carrier strike capability."

(New text) "The United Kingdom has recently retired the Harrier jets that fly from the nations aircraft carriers, temporarily leaving the Royal Navy without a carrier strike capability".

I have included temporarily to signify that the abandoning of carrier strike is not a permanent strategy for the Royal Navy and that they intend to re-generate that capability in the coming decade. I believe this information to be important.

Any input or opinion you can offer to the discussion linked to (also to the status of the RN as a BW navy) will be immensely valuable, thanks for your time. G.R. Allison (talk) 12:08, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion Rejected

[edit]

Your link here Potential Superpowers clearly is dated on 23rd may 2008 where as this article India as an emerging superpower was written by me on my previous account Nobleeagle on 2nd feb 2007. Thus it is not I who has copy pasted it is the Potential superpowers page that has. In simple terms the page cannot be deleted.

A Piece Of Advise

[edit]

Look dude, I know how it is hard for you to come to know that India has a chance of being a superpower where as Sweden by itself can never ever be without the E.U. I can also understand you wanting your people to be on the top of everything. But no matter how much you hate the Indian people don't let your Racism, Fascism or Nazism show as a bias on Wikipedia, it just reinforces your hate for other races. P.S. even the nominal GDP of the poorest nation in the world is Greater than yours, it must feel terrible i am sorry that you feel this way. 158.142.161.127 (talk) 19:49, 30 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Swedish, the same user left me the message "Sorry brit no can do. P.S try to control your jealousy." on the talk page. What's to be done about this user? G.R. Allison (talk) 19:01, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

India as a rising power - AGAIN

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:The letter F, Ar Hermann font.png

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:The letter F, Ar Hermann font.png.
