Information icon Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Ben Schwartz. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Dr. K. 23:44, 23 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to use disruptive, inappropriate or hard-to-read formatting, as you did at Steve Martin, you may be blocked from editing. There is a Wikipedia Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. - FlightTime (open channel) 23:09, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Important Notice

[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in pseudoscience and fringe science. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Hello! Voting in the 2020 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 7 December 2020. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2020 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 02:57, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Unconstructive change

[edit]

Hi there, though your first submission[1] of content at Cult following was well-meaning and appreciated, this resubmission is not constructive. When another editor reverts you, your recourse is to open a discussion on the article's talk page to seek consensus for the change you want, not to resubmit it. This is a collaborative encyclopedia, so it's important to discuss things rather than trying to force your preference onto the community, and this sort of behaviour we call edit-warring. Thanks and regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 22:20, 27 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that in this edit to Trey Parker, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 20:24, 14 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I wanted to let you know that your recent edit(s) to The Great Mouse Detective have been removed because you cited the information you added to IMDb. As discussed at WP:RS/IMDb, IMDb is considered a questionable source, and generally should not be used as a sole reference. You are welcome to re-add the information using a different reliable source, or with an additional source confirming the information from IMDb. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. DonIago (talk) 18:21, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing certain namespaces ((Article)) for a long term pattern of problematic edits, and an apprent refusal to adapt your aproach or to communicate with other users in any way.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Beeblebrox (talk) 23:53, 31 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The fact that this [2] is the only time you have ever spoken to another user shows that you are aware of the litany of messages that have been left here about your problematic edits, and reflects a dismissive attitude that is not compatible with a collaborative project.
