[edit]

Information icon Hi Tikaboo! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Dead Soldiers several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Dead Soldiers, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. signed, Rosguill talk 16:40, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Waxworker. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Charlie Plummer, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Waxworker (talk) 15:06, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Engineerchange. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Orcs Must Die! 3 have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. Collapsing comments

[edit]

If you decide you want to collapse your own comments, check out {{Collapse top}}. You would put a title parameter in there as shown in the example to indicate why you are collapsing, and then be sure to use the {{collapse bottom}} template at the end. Figured you'd be better off doing it yourself, so you have control over what you want to collapse. --GoneIn60 (talk) 15:40, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Editing comments

[edit]

Just an FYI, it would be good if you could try avoid editing your comments so often. It is really difficult to have a clear conversation when you have changed your comments while others are responding to them. I know there are going to be times when you have an extra thought just after you publish, or you read back the message and realise you missed something, but multiple times now I have responded to your comment and then noticed on my watchlist that you had changed it while I was responding. This also makes it confusing for anyone reading back through the messages later as they won't see the message that I was actually responding to. If you do need to go back and add a paragraph then it is better to do it as a reply to your previous message, that way it will have the correct timestamp and will be in the correct place within the flow of comments. - adamstom97 (talk) 19:35, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

How to overcome stonewalling

[edit]

I see what's happening on that talk page and I admire your efforts to uphold Wikipedia's policies in a difficult area. Outside of clear BLP violations (which you can take to the BLP Noticeboard), my best advice for overcoming tendentious stonewallers is to open an RfC and let the wider community help. They can't talk the entire Wikipedia community in circles for months in an RfC. If the behaviour gets particularly egregious (which it certainly appears to be approaching) you can always report them to Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents to seek Administrator intervention. Thanks! RfC looks like it would help in a couple disputes I've been involved in. Tikaboo (talk) 09:58, 14 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
