The article Sargun Kaur has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Do not create articles about living people that are entirely negative in tone and unsourced. Wikipedia has a policy of verifiability and any negative information we use must be reliably sourced, and our articles must be balanced. Negative, unreferenced biographies of living people are not tolerated by Wikipedia and are speedily deleted. Under section G10 of the criteria for speedy deletion, the page has been nominated for deletion. Users who continue to create or repost such pages and images in violation of our biographies of living persons policy may be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion nomination of Shyam Mashalkar

[edit]

Hello Vidhee2,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Shyam Mashalkar for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Interpretive labels

[edit]

Hi Vidhee2, though your efforts are appreciated, it would be helpful if you'd please refrain from adding interpretive labels like antagonist/protagonist, lead, etc. as you've done here. The WikiProject Television community prefers that editors not do this. What you consider a parallel lead might actually be considered a lead by the producers, and it's not our job to make these distinctions of our own interpretation. If you want to make it clear which characters are the antagonists, you should do so by writing prose descriptions about the characters that deliver the information in context. "John is a jealous business owner who seeks revenge on Jack after Jack has an affair with John's wife." That sort of thing.

Even from a practical perspective, in a section marked "Main", calling someone a "Main lead" would be triply redundant, as we already know they're main cast, and we can probably assume they are leads. We could also surmise that the name(s) at the top of the list are probably more important, assuming they were ordered by the on-screen credits. We also don't need to be informed of gender, because we have eyes and can probably figure out who the males and females are.

Please note that WP:TVCAST is the set of guidelines you should be following, as this represents widespread community consensus. And if you're interested in seeing a quality article that deals well with character and cast descriptions, please see List of Millennium characters. This is the goal we should be working towards. A tag has been placed on File:OSlslmYiOiJqcGcifQ.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Manual of Style for television and other community preferences

[edit]

Vidhee2, this edit, where you again install protagonist/antagonist labels are not consistent with WikiProject Television community preferences. Feel free to ask at WT:TV if you want confirmation. The community prefers that this information be delivered with sufficient context as in the example I gave you the last time I brought this up. See List of Millennium characters as an example. You will notice that nobody is labeled as a protagonist, yet it is clear who the most important characters are, and who are not as important. Please adhere to this, as your repeated edits have become disruptive.

This edit, where you stuff cast/characters into a "Former(Dead)Cast" section is also problematic, because it is inconsistent with WP:TVCAST, a guideline I've brought to your attention before. We care about the entire history of a TV show's cast, not just the most current cast. Cast members don't cease to be of academic importance simply because the cast member has left the series or that the character has been written off. Cast should be organised based on how they were introduced into the series, with new cast being added to the bottom of the Main and Recurring cast. This means that if a lead character is killed off in episode 100 and a replacement lead is brought in in the next episode, that new lead would be added to the bottom of the Main cast list, even if it means they are beneath subordinate characters. We would then use prose to indicate that they were brought in to replace the other character.

Our Manual of Style for Television is the bible you should be editing in accordance with, as it represents long-standing community preferences for how articles should be shaped. Since you have now been given the tools to edit constructively, please note that any further deviations will be considered disruptive. I also strongly recommend you use the article's talk page to ask questions or to discuss and controversial changes. Thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 13:48, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

For repeatedly adding ridiculous, repetitious language and interpretive content like "Main Female Lead Protagonist", as you did here after being fully apprised of the problems with this phrasing, and for disruptively blanking another editor's user page as you did in these three, presumably deliberate edits. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 14:40, 19 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, when your block expires, you are welcome to make constructive edits, but since you've kept adding this problematic content, this will be off-limits. Your recourse when other editors respond negatively to content you add, is to open a discussion on the article's talk page and seek consensus for inclusion, not edit-war over the issue. I also strongly recommend you start responding to discussions that have been opened up on your talk page, because your silent changes convey apathy toward the community.
