If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Mountain Ash Golf Club requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. RE

[edit]

Hi,

I saw the article on the new pages feed. At the time, there was not context to support the importance of the club (although the recently added material may help to keep it). A deletion request is not a threat in any way and because I am not an administrator, I cannot delete pages, only request deletion through the tag I placed on the article. Regarding to your user page, they are used simply as an 'about me.' If you want people to see an important message, please place it on the talk page of the article to make it more accessible. Thanks. --GouramiWatcher (?) 17:47, 10 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Bodwyn, Llanrhuddlad

[edit]

Hello Wici Rhuthun 1,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Bodwyn, Llanrhuddlad for deletion, because it appears to duplicate an existing Wikipedia article, [[{{{article}}}]].

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Corvoe (speak to me) 16:53, 31 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Bryn Hafod, Llannerch-y-medd

[edit]

I am proposing to put Bryn Hafod, Llannerch-y-medd up for deletion. The reason is that I think the place, as a settlement, is just too small. I have added a request at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Wales#Bryn Hafod, Llannerch-y-medd asking for comments. You are welcome to add your own comments but please make it clear that you were the creator of the article.

Also, do not put the names of the MPs in a place article. At the next election they may change and you would have then have to update all those articles. Just leave the constituency link in the infobox and users can then find their names (and lots more) in the constituency article. Twiceuponatime (talk) 07:47, 4 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I agree to both requests. Wici Rhuthun 1 (talk) 09:23, 4 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
OK. Can you put
{{db-author|rationale=settlement too small for article}}
at the head of the article and it will speedily disappear. As the creator you have special rights; if I do it it has to go for discussion. Twiceuponatime (talk) 10:27, 5 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Anglesey template

[edit]

Sterling work on the new articles. Just noticed though that when you've put *[[List of localities in Wales by population]] {{Anglesey}} all on one line the template isn't rendering correctly and the towns in group1 are all mashed up together. I don't know why but if you make sure that the {{Anglesey}} is on a line by itself the problem goes away. You might not have been seeing it as it might be an operating system/browser issue but something goes wrong somewhere. Thanks. Nthep (talk) 13:41, 4 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Looks fine for me. What can I do now? Wici Rhuthun 1 (talk) 13:44, 4 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I've moved the template down one line and now it looks fine. Just have to see what happens on any future ones. Nthep (talk) 13:48, 4 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I'll keep that in mind. And thanks for being nice and complementary! The first glimpse of goodness on this wiki! Wici Rhuthun 1 (talk) 13:51, 4 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Places

[edit]

Hi, thanks for your work on Welsh settlements. The problem is that it's redundant saying how far it is from London and Cardiff. Much more useful to say the distance from a major town in Anglesey and local situation.♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:35, 4 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Consider merging rather than stub creation.

[edit]

Hello. Welcome to Wikipedia. I've noticed you are creating a lot of article stubs for hamlets of very small communities that merely state the hamlet exists, rather than offer any significant details about the hamlet. I don't think this tactic is in the best interest of Wikipedia readers. For instance, Tre-Ysgawen says nothing about the size or population of the hamlet (likely not more than 1000), nor any information of any other hamlets in Llanddyfnan. It might be more useful to readers to first develop a list hamlets in articles of the respective community/village or larger geographic place to give proper context and centralized coverage; simply because a place is named does not necessarily make it notable nor necessary. Should subsequent textual development of a particular hamlet warrant its eventual splitting, perhaps only then should the content be split. Please see WP:NGEO, WP:NPLACE, and WP:LOCAL for more guidance. Cheers, --Animalparty-- (talk) 05:25, 5 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Settlements in Anglesey

[edit]

You are creating a lot of articles for small settlements in Anglesey. The infobox you are adding has errors so that it is not displaying the correct (local) map. I have corrected some – see Capel Coch, Maenaddwyn - llok in history to compare the changes. The template is very particular and some of the parameters have to be very precise; some with brackets, some not.

Also, it is not necessary to be so precise. Lat/long is more than sufficient with four decimal places. Distances should be whole numbers (and you don’t need to convert to km – the template does that automatically). Twiceuponatime (talk) 11:30, 5 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Distances

[edit]

You know there is a template that will do all the working out for you once you know the distance in either km or miles. It's called {{convert}} and will convert either miles to km or vice versa. The basic syntax is easy so {{convert|55|mi|km|1}} produces 55 miles (88.5 km). Saves you having to make all the calculations yourself. Nthep (talk) 09:53, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Nefyn & District Golf Club

Hello, Wici Rhuthun 1. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Bausley with Criggion, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Amortias (T)(C) 19:50, 10 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion requests

[edit]

Hi

I've noticed a lot of your pages are being marked up for deletion due to failing to meet various criteria,

If these are works in progress and there is the aim to come back to them to complete or improve them there are some options available that should help to reduce the chance of these being deleted.

If you wish to create a page in your sandbox as a test of its suitability for creation you can do so by following the link near the top of the page, When complete you can then use the request for creation link so other people can offer guidance or advice on what may be useful to make sure it isnt tagged for deletion.

A second option would be to tag the page as under construction so that people are aware it isnt complete so dont act in haste at deleting it. this can be done by adding the tag underconstruction in {{ }} at the top of the created page

Hope this helps Amortias (T)(C) 20:19, 10 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Penmorwdd has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I cannot find the place on Google Maps, which is the only source. I cannot find anything about Penmorwdd. Does it really exist?

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
