Sockpuppet

[edit]

Howdy,

Now that he’s started to hit VGK pages, I’m acutely aware of him; if you’d be willing to provide some of the stronger points on how/why he’s a sock (saw a few on the admin talk page you’d asked at), I’m more than willing to go ahead and submit the SPI case if you don’t have the time. Thanks again for pointing him out. The Kip 07:08, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@The Kip I'm gonna hold off and wait until I have more evidence to link XR228 to the last verified sock Coola 1028. I had two people say that they weren't quite convinced that I have the right guy, which is now making me have second thoughts. The only evidence I have so far is that XR228 created their account a day after Coola 1028 was blocked, which seemed super fishy to me. In the past, I've noticed that this guy creates new accounts soon after his last account gets blocked. I also noticed that XR228 leaves some of the columns in the game logs on the 2023–2024 articles empty, and uses the normal dashes instead of en dashes. This editing style is very similar to how Coola 1028 would edit with his other accounts. I'll find examples if I am able to verify that XR228 is a sock. Other than that, XR228 has only edited NHL related articles, whereas Coola 1028 would edit college football pages along with a mix of other stuff. I'm hoping that XR228 will start editing college football stuff because that would be a major giveaway that this is the same person. I'm gonna wait until I have a little more evidence, and I'll update you when I have more info. If you want to do some investigating yourself, feel free to do so. I'll also note that I find it strange how Coola 1028 and XR228 both have "28" in their usernames. Yowashi (talk) 16:02, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Gotcha, I'll keep an eye out. Definitely seems rather fishy but yeah, not quite enough for a proper case yet. The Kip 19:03, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Montreal season article IP editor

Just make sure that you don't inadvertently go over 3rr in dealing with them. They've already dug their own grave once an admin looks into it. Deadman137 (talk) 03:04, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
