WP:BLP of a musician and actor, not reliably sourced as getting over our notability criteria for musicians or actors. The primary notability claim as a musician is that he was a member of a band who certainly clear NMUSIC as a band, but the band's notability does not automatically guarantee the standalone notability of every individual band member: to be notable enough for his own standalone BLP as a separate topic from the band, he would have to redemonstrate that he has notability independent of the band: solo albums, coverage that was specifically about him rather than just mentioning his name in the process of being about the band, and on and so forth — and as an actor, his only discernible notability claim is that he's had a couple of supporting or extra roles, which is also not an instant notability freebie. And as for the footnotes, the reliable sources here are entirely about the band, while every single reference for anything else is a primary source (user-generated content on Facebook or Twitter, the self-published websites of organizations that he's directly affiliated with, etc.) that is not support for notability at all. This is not how you make a musician or an actor notable enough for a Wikipedia article. Bearcat (talk) 15:03, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have added Bascombe's songwriters credits to the article. Will continue to try to improve the article. Vannessajg (talk) 19:24, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Listing songwriting credits isn't what's going to make the difference. Showing a WP:GNG-worthy volume of reliable source media coverage about him, existing independently of his name merely being mentioned in coverage about the band, is what's going to make the difference. Like all Classic Soul/R&B groups of the 1970's and 1980's. The name of the group is what identify the artists in the groups as well. The groups/singers/artists of that era have become legendary. For instance, Al Goodman of Ray, Goodman & Brown (AKA The Moments) never had a solo career, however he has a stand alone Wikipedia page. Robert "Squirrel" Lester of The Chi-Lites, never had a solo career and he has a stand alone page. Bubba Knight of Gladys Knight & The Pips didn't have a solo career, and he has a stand alone page and all of the sources that are referenced on his page are linked to Gladys Knight & The Pips articles. Randy Cain of The Delfonics has a stand alone page as well. My point is that the names I mentioned go hand in hand with the groups they are in. In the classic soul/R&B world the group members are known by name and/or group. Preserving their names are just as important as preserving the groups name, due to having paved the way for artists today.

Please let me know which links are directly going to the subjects twitter, Facebook and website pages. I did have the organization's link that he is a board member of just to show he was a member. I have since removed that. I was trying to make sure that I didn't use Stuart Bascombe's or Black Ivory's websites, FB and twitter pages. I am new to editing and creating pages, so I may be using the wrong sites for references. Thanking you in advance. Vannessajg (talk) 02:52, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
