See description on Commons for more about the significance/ juicy details of the image (like, What are there all those funny keyhole things in the enamel? and is the dentin really shaped like that? and this is why I need to brush more, and floss, etc.).

Have added lines to indicate path of nerve (which more or less parallels that of the blood vessels). This puts it in line with (really, ahead of) most textbook images of a decaying tooth (see here for a long list of examples that aren't quite as good!).
