Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Schedule

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is the Motto of the Day schedule. It is a list of mottos that were nominated on the nominations page, and approved by consensus. Next to each motto is the date that it will appear as the Motto of the Day. If you wish to schedule a motto yourself, please see below for the procedure.

Scheduling procedure

[edit]

To schedule an unused motto

  1. Select the next approved motto that appears at or near the top of the decisions page
  2. Decide which day needs a new motto. Select the earliest day that doesn't have a motto.
  3. Move the motto into a new subpage in the form of Wikipedia:Motto of the day/MONTHNAME DAY, YEAR (Example: Wikipedia:Motto of the day/January 1, 2000).
  4. Transclude the subpage into this page (if it isn't already) with its respective date.
    • Note: If it is a special occasion as seen in those nominated in the specials page, those should be moved from that page to the appropriate day.

Note: Submissions for MOTD have been inactive for 2016 so far (5/18), but there has been some interest expressed in restarting or otherwise adapting the practice. If new mottos are introduced they may appear below.
