  • I created the redirect. At the time, Nile rhinoceros was listed as a common name for the subspecies on the page. Sometime after, it was found to be inapplicable. The result of the discussion was retarget to Bruce Forsyth. ~ Amory (utc) 10:32, 24 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Propose redirecting to Bruce Forsyth. Forsyth was commonly known as Sir Bruce, and is clearly the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC compared to Woodcock Joseph2302 (talk) 22:31, 15 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • If that's the case then Sir Bruce should be a dab page, since the term refers to both an online handle and a nickname (short name? Hypocorism? Whatever it is). —Xezbeth (talk) 13:16, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget - I agree that this should go to Bruce Forsyth. Apparently, being known as simply "Sir Bruce" was common enough for him that there's a major program titled Sir Bruce that aired after his death. Woodcock's use of "Sir Bruce" could be handled by a hat-note. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 08:51, 18 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
This redirect had been viewed twelve times in the last three months before this RfD. There is certainly not a primary topic. —Xezbeth (talk) 08:02, 19 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Bruce Forsyth - Forsyth was often referred to as Sir Bruce so personally I would say Forsyth is the PRIMARYTOPIC here, As noted above I would suggest adding a hat note to both the Bruce Forsyth article and the Bruce Woodcock article to avoid any potential confusion. –Davey2010Talk 13:31, 23 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • I vote delete. Soft redirects to wiktionary are pretty much never useful, especially for those using search engines who might get this useless link to a dictionary page. Oiyarbepsy (talk) 03:28, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete In favor of wiktionary soft redirects when useful, but there isn't much there anyway. I don't think this needs to exist, it seems like it's just a neologism, made up for branding. ~ Amory (utc) 13:01, 23 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was Retarget. Took me a while, but the thing under the s is slightly different: ş VS ș. My eyes hurt. ~ Amory (utc) 01:33, 23 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Taking this here because I'm confused. This is in response to this protected edit request (redirect is full-protected) from user Rhinen:

"Things are more clear now than in 2014 or 2013. FC Politehnica Timișoara was dissolved in 2012. Two clubs were formed ACS Poli Timișoara, with some continuity rights in the old clubs history (FC Politehnica) and ASU Politehnica Timișoara, supporters club, recognized as "ASU" even by Romanian Football Federation. The two clubs are known as ACS Poli and ASU Poli, no reason for ASU Politehnica Timişoara to be redirect to ACS Poli Timisoara, can create confusion. ASU Politehnica Timişoara need to be redirect to ASU Politehnica Timișoara." Rhinen — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rhinen (talkcontribs) 19:16, 14 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'm confused partly because the redirect and the proposed target seem to be the same to me, but they are definitely distinct pages and I can't tell what's different in the titles. There are past discussions about this title (AfD; previous edit request) which cast some doubt. On the whole I do think the redirect should be retargeted, but should be discussed first in case there are differing opinions. I also added the "squad" redirect which should be deleted, it was clearly created to evade the consensus target and full protection, and is redundant anyway. Courtesy ping Mark Arsten, the protecting administrator. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 13:22, 15 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget (as nom) ASU Politehnica Timişoara to ASU Politehnica Timișoara per the edit request. I want to add some details to be more clear. The case is a little confusing in Romania too, but it looks like a bit of MK Dons vs AFC Wimbledon case, for those who know it. FC Politehnica (the parent club, like Wimbledon FC) was dissolved. ACS Recaș was moved to Timișoara and renamed as ACS Poli Timișoara, there were some decisions that this team could continue the tradition of the old team, but there is absolutely nothing clear, the decisions being quite disputed. So ACS Poli is quite simillar with MK Dons, a moved team from another city, but in this case ACS Poli want FC Politehnica history and honours, which is a disputed thing, nothing 100% clear now. ASU Politehnica Timișoara was founded by old team, FC Politehnica Timișoara, supporters and started from lower leagues, kind of AFC Wimbledon. In my opinion none of the two are a legal succesor of the old team, but ACS Poli tried some legal procedures, not a very clear result yet. So in fact are 2 new born clubs after the dissolution of the old one, ACS Poli (Municipality club) and ASU Politehnica (ex-FC Politehnica supporters club). Someone tried probably years ago to redirect ASU Politehnica Timişoara to ACS Poli Timișoara to create confusion and minimalize ASU Politehnica, so probably this action was a result of the ACS Poli vs ASU Politehnica war. The 2 teams even played one against the other in the Romanian Cup and both claim the record of the old team, so a lot of tension there. Rhinen Talk 15:47, 15 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not an English name for this plant. Introduced to en.wiki with this edit linking to a German language site where the term "Afrikanische Aster" is used, although that doesn't really seem to be a commonly used name in German either. Plantdrew (talk) 02:50, 6 March 2018 (UTC) Plantdrew (talk) 02:50, 6 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment - This term appears to have been used in print at least once, in an English language context. It seems that a different plant is referred to, though? CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 05:20, 9 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • I suppose theoretically a retarget is worthwhile, then, to Amellus? The German article on Gerbera says that before 1737 Gerbera was referred to as the African Aster, but gives no inline citation. I'm not finding a whole lot of references beyond the book above, so absent anything, I'd say this refers to any aster from Africa, and thus should be deleted or disambiguated, with a heavy preference for the former. ~ Amory (utc) 14:50, 14 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Weak Delete - This is a frustrating case given that the aforementioned textbook doesn't give any detailed information other than a quick listing of the term. Fresh salsa

The result of the discussion was delete. ~ Amory (utc) 01:35, 23 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Due to the lack of identifying the term "fresh" in respect to the target article, this redirect targeting its current target is misleading since readers will not find information regarding "fresh" salsa. The closest match I could find for "fresh salsa" is Pico de gallo since an alternative name for that subject is apparently "salsa fresca" which, if I recall, in English, means "fresh sauce". But, it may just be better to delete this redirect to allow Wikipedia's search function to do its job. Steel1943 (talk) 19:01, 6 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Probably delete. Salsa (sauce) is fresh by definition - you would not want to experience non-fresh salsa. As for pico de gallo salsa fresca is correct, but the equivalent of that in English is not "fresh salsa", the literal equivalent is "fresh sauce". But I don't think anyone calls it that. (Pico de gallo translates literally to "beak of rooster", according to the article). Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 18:33, 7 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Pico de gallo salsa is spanish for sauce but in English it means a Mexicanstyle sauce. Salsa comes canned so it is not always (normally in some areas) fresh. Legacypac (talk) 02:32, 8 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Term not found in target article; no evidence that this is a useful redirect. PamD 21:26, 26 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Well, the term is descriptively accurate, but at least in English it doesn't seem to be used at all. A two-minute gbooks search reveals plenty of sources in Bulgarian and Macedonian, but only in an ethnographical (and not dialectological) context. I don't see any particular harms in either deleting or keeping. – Uanfala (talk) 19:53, 27 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Weak Delete - It's not misleading, true, but it also doesn't appear to be helpful either. I suppose this wording might be used in obscure, non-English publications. Still, we're editing an English encyclopedia, and while I've got no strong opinions here I'd prefer deletion. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 07:36, 17 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This refers to a non-notable business in Houston that isn't mentioned on the Sports in Houston page. [5] Note this is not USA Baseball AngusWOOF (barksniff) 23:56, 6 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I think it should be kept because it was an NCAA Division I softball venue for the Houston Cougars. If someone would take the time to research it and find references, it would qualify as notable. Sadly, that won't happen. It was redirected to Sports in Houston b/c it doubles as a baseball venue and softball venue and not solely dedicated to the Houston Cougars. I also think it should be kept so the history of the stadiums for the university isn't lost. I'd add the venue to the section on the Sports in Houston page dedicated to the Houston Cougars. This type of sports venue history is being lost on Wikipedia too often even though it is very meaningful in American culture.User:Spatms (talk) 23:59, 6 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe it can be thrown into a draft so that you can find sources like this one and write up the history of the venue. It isn't currently serving as the baseball venue for the Cougars, but Houston Cougars softball does mention it was used for one season. I don't see much notability for it besides that, as then it's a heavily local business. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 04:38, 7 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure I'll have time to work on this right now, but when I find enough sources maybe I can bring it back if it gets deleted.User:Spatms (talk) 06:47, 7 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
