Narendra Modi age @ the time of marriage

[edit]

Greetings,

Child marriage? of Narendra Modi is repeatedly discussed topic @ the article talk page. My personal research in source content indicated that Narendra Modi did not turned 18 on the date of his marriage being Date of birth being 17 September 1950 and date of marriage being 10th May 1968. Where as many other allegedly reliable news sources repeating same news as he was 18 in casual manner without particular effort to justify age at the marriage.

A News News18 source about from a book quote from Andy Marino speaks of "The clan plan was to ensure a limited period of co-habitation when he would turn 18..- a trigger that caused Modi to pack up and leave." he is probably not turned 18 yet.
1) The above quote appears in which chapter of "Marino, Andy (6 April 2014). "The Early Years". Narendra Modi: A Political Biography. India: HarperCollins Publishers: ?. ISBN 9789351362180." if possible page number too.
2) Was Narendra Modi 18 on his marriage date according to Marino?
3) Does any other book refers date of marriage of Narendra Modi from Narendra Modi's side; the one I got from news source that referred to his wife's brother's memory.
4) Narendra Modi's birth date is 17 September 1950 from birth certificate or from school records ?
Thanks and warm regards

Re (1) No discussion of his marriage or leaving home appears on the pages of Marino that are available to preview (at least for me, it might be different for another user). The search function brings up no results for your quote, not even on “preview not available” pages.) You will probably need to buy the book or borrow it from the library.
Re (2), although I can’t answer for Marino, note that Jashodaben_Modi has three citations for the age of 18, which seem to be her own memories.
Re (3), a date similar to the date you give (20 May, not 10 May) appears in The Real Modi: The Man Who Would be Prime Minister, by Arvind Chaturvedi, Bloomsbury 2020, sourced to neighbours of the family. 70.67.193.176 (talk) 20:00, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Re (4), Marino gives the birthday (17 September 1950). (pages are not numbered, but it is the first sentence of the first chapter). However, there is no footnote to say what the source is. 70.67.193.176 (talk) 20:00, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
In the News18.com source, a book review, the sentence about a limited period of co-habitation is not presented as a quotation from the book; it paraphrases a conclusion.  --Lambiam 22:12, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

style of wearing bandanas

[edit]

Something about how a way a bandana is worn is puzzling me. I would to see some women and girls wear them while doing their jobs or chores. But in films such as Norma Rae, The Wedding Planner and The Great Gilly Hopkins, I've seen some of the characters wear bandanas. But what should I call those bandana hairstyles? Any suggestions?2603:7000:8106:C149:F49C:86F8:E3DD:8515 (talk) 11:42, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It will depend on the hairstyle and how the bandana is worn. The possibilities are many. Here are two lists of trending bandana hairstyles with photos and descriptive names: Byrdie, The TrendSpotter. ---Sluzzelin talk 12:16, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

on cognitive neuroscience ?

[edit]

is cognitive neuroscience considered part of the humanities? RJJ4y7 (talk), 20:07, 8 July 2021(UTC)

It is usually considered science, just like psychology in general. While some approaches to psychology have a philosophical bend and straddle the fence between science and the humanities (see, e.g., the work of William James), cognitive neuroscience is firmly on the science side of the fence.  --Lambiam 22:20, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
