that third quote really is very interesting, I had no idea something like this is part of the Odyssey, but nowhere in this quote is anybody ever identified as a maid or similar, not as servants, not as slaves - the people who wash their things in the river water rather seem to be the heroes of the story themselves, of no "underling status" or being required to do this work on demand of a boss, but just happy to be able to do it after a long time of getting dirtier and dirtier.

So, really I should just remove it... but maybe someone first finds a place where it fits better, it would certainly be nice to have it *somewhere*. (And in the moment I don't have the time for that.)
