Cyber Towers Madhapur

West Hyderabad, according to the Municipal Corporation's definition, covers the areas of Gachibowli, Serilingampally, Patancheruvu, Moosapet and Kukatpally. This is one of the newer areas of Hyderabad, having developed along with the IT Industry in the late 1990s. Its core is Serilingampally, which encompasses Hi tec city, Madhapur and Kondapur, where the first of the software companies set up their offices. Gachibowli, to the south, is home to the larger campuses of software companies as well as educational institutions. A part of Gachibowli and neighbouring Nanakramguda is also called Financial District, a misnomer that reflects the government's unsuccessful attempt to attract banking and financial sector companies. The area primarily houses software companies, just like the rest of West Hyderabad.

The northern part, in contrast, will seem like a vast undifferentiated residential neighbourhood containing apartments where the employees of software companies stay

Another term that is used to refer to the area is Cyberabad. Colloquially, it is used to refer to refer to Hyderabad to bolster its claim as the IT capital of India. Officially, the Police Commissionerate with jurisdiction over this area (and then some) is called the Cyberabad Commissionerate.

By car

[edit]

The main road that connects Central Hyderabad to the West is NH 65, the highway that connects Mumbai and Vijayawada. This is the preferred route if your destination is anywhere along Kukatpally or Miyapur. It will take around 40 minutes in average traffic. To get to Hi tech city, Road #36 or Road #45 are the better options if you are coming from Banjara Hills or Jubilee Hills. From the heart of the city, the Shaikpet flyover and Old Mumbai Highway route that starts from Tolichowki is better.

The Nehru Outer ring road begins and ends here. Exits 1 and 19 will get you to Gachibowli and Financial District respectively.

Roads in this district are broader and, in general, better.

By metro

[edit]

Both the Red Line  Red  and the Blue Line  Blue  terminate in West Hyderabad. The Red Line terminates at Miyapur, while the Blue Line terminates at Raidurg, in Hi tech city. The metro is an option for those who wish to travel to the centre of the city, but it is not convenient for getting around the district. There is no easy connectivity between Miyapur and Hi tech city as the interchange between the two lines is at far-off Ameerpet, and there is no metro connectivity to Gachibowli.

By train

[edit]

Both Hyderabad–Lingampalli  HL  and Falaknuma–Lingampalli  FL  routes of the MMTS run through this district. Both routes terminate at 1 Lingampalli Lingampalli railway station on Wikipedia, which is also occasionally served by express trains. 2 Hitech City Hi-Tech City railway station on Wikipedia is another major railway station in both routes, and probably the best way to get to the core of this district by local train.
