Monsey is a hamlet in the town of Ramapo in Rockland County, New York.

Monsey is a historic place, once home to Lenape Native Americans, whose encampment at Monsey Glen can be visited. Today, the hamlet is largely populated by Chasidic Jews. If you know some Yiddish, this is one place where you can use your knowledge.

On Maple Avenue at Blauvelt Road stands an old house. The story goes that President George Washington slept there one night during the Revolutionary War. Today, there is an elderly couple living there.

There are lots of shopping centers in Monsey, for example the Shoppers Haven Mall, which includes the Rockland Kosher Supermarket and a variety of different stores. Another shopping center is The Town Square, which includes the Evergreen Supermarket' and a variety of different stores.
