In the spirit of 'back to school' posts and starting new things, I'm reflecting on this last week where I was the new kid on the block in a new 'school'. Or rather new city, country, office and team. 😜 I had the great luck to be asked if I would consider going to Barcelona on a temporary assignment for ~3 months. Those who know me know I love travel, I love change, and I have always wanted to work abroad, so it was a no brainer. How lucky am I that I get to work out of the incredible Socialpoint studio. A brand new, amazing space with a beautiful canteen - I'm embracing not eating at my desk which is a bad habit I've had for years! Also loving the barista. 😉 Plus a gym, and not one, but two fabulous rooftop patios to work from. Gaming companies get how to make a great employee experience at work and Socialpoint is no exception! They nailed it. I want to extend my huge thanks to the team at Socialpoint - especially my HR peeps - for making me feel so welcome (I know I have a lot more people to meet!). It has only been 4 days but I feel like I've been part of the team forever. 😊 Here's to working on my Spanish! In 2021, Judit Carbo joined us as the only Game Data Scientist in a small prototype.
