Imagine a future where AI can transform your singing in a live performance, enabling you to sing in a completely different voice from your own (and in tune!)? Well, imagine no more. The Voicemod Software Development Kit (SDK) now includes our Sing-to-Sing technology, which lets end-users change their singing voice in real time. From adjusting pitch and timbre to applying automatic voice tuning, the technology makes musical expression accessible to everyone. We see a huge opportunity to use AI for musical creation and it’s long been a focus for Voicemod – with highlights including our collaboration with artist Holly Herndon on Holly+,  an AI trained on Holly’s voice using Voicemod’s technology, which can sing in any language and transform voices in real time. Holly demonstrated this onstage in her TED talk, where she was joined by another musician who was able to sing live using Holly’s voice. A pioneer in this space and advocate for AI unlocking creativity, Holly was behind the first AI voice song ever released on Spotify, and the first artist to offer her AI voice for other artists to use. We are proud to join Fairly Trained on their mission to create a fairer world for creators and to be the first voice AI company to earn the certification marking our commitment to ethical AI training. Fairly Trained is a non-profit that certifies generative AI companies for fair training data which is used with creators’ consent. They are rigorous in their requirements – so there are no shortcuts to earning a certification. At Voicemod, all of the training data for our AI voice and singing models is licensed, including collaborating with professional voice actors to train our AI for the creation of new Voicemod voices. Toxicity is a huge problem in gaming, and it appears to be on the rise – more than half of players say they regularly encounter toxicity while playing multiplayer gamers, reported in Unity’s 2023 survey, an increase from 68% in 2021 to 74% in 2023.  So how do we address this? The first step is to understand the problem. Enter The Toxicity Rating, created by Melanin Gamers, on a mission to make gaming safer and more inclusive. The Toxicity Rating is a community-sourced tool which lets users report their experience of racism, gender discrimination and toxicity more generally in popular games like Fortnite, Minecraft and Call of Duty. Melanin Gamers’ initiative tallies with our mission at Voicemod to help people express themselves freely, connect with others and find belonging in online spaces.
