We follow the science, to unlock innovation and pursue sustainable answers. We are guided by our commitment to patients, our people and the planet. Our vision is to deliver life-transforming treatments to those in need. We are steadfast in our purpose for better health for people and a brighter future for the world.
概要
We strive to transform lives. While the science we advance is constantly evolving, our core purpose is enduring. For more than two centuries, our values have guided us to do what’s right for patients and for society. We know that changing lives requires us to do things differently. We start by listening to and addressing what really matters to patients, the people who love them, and those in the healthcare system who provide care. And that’s what inspires us all to be bold, push boundaries and set new standards that open up greater opportunities. Read our community guidelines: https://takeda.info/communityguidelines

Celiac disease is an immune-mediated condition where ingestion of gluten leads to damage in the small intestine and causes both gastrointestinal and non-gastrointestinal symptoms. The only treatment option currently available for patients is a lifelong adherence to a gluten-free diet. But that still presents risks for people living with celiac, like Bill. For those living with #CeliacDisease, routine follow-ups with a specialized care team are important to monitor disease activity, assess nutrition and achieve optimal outcomes. This #CeliacDiseaseAwarenessDay, we are committed to increasing awareness and understanding of celiac disease to drive change in the standard of care. Takeda does not have any approved treatment for celiac disease. Please consult your healthcare provider for advice.

Guided by our values, we act with integrity to positively impact society. When the hollyhock plant was threatened by climate change impacting the 1,500-year-old Aio Festival, the Takeda Garden for Medicinal Plant Conservation helped preserve the tradition. This weekend, many of our team members walked together in support of the #PrimaryImmunodeficiency (PI) community at the Immune Deficiency Foundation's #WalkforPI in Boston. PI affects approximately 1 in 1,200 people in the U.S. and is often challenging to diagnose because symptoms can be mistaken for other common infections. Early detection through screening and genetic testing can greatly improve outcomes for individuals with PI. Reflecting on the walk, we are inspired by the strength of the families we met, the stories we heard, and the shared commitment to raising awareness and visibility for those living with PI. There are no approved treatments for celiac disease. The only management option for patients is a strict gluten-free diet. However, even with careful management, there are still lifelong risks for people living with celiac, like Bill. Watch the full story: https://lnkd.in/eBuiJyMC

We are working with diverse partners to strengthen healthcare systems as part of our efforts to broaden sustainable, equitable access to innovative medicines for eligible patients. Earlier this year, we hosted the 2024 Access to Medicines Summit in Manila, the Philippines. The summit, which we initiated, organized, and funded, brought together a diverse group of stakeholders from the public and private sectors. Through this collaboration, a roadmap for improving access to healthcare and medicines across the country was developed. Read more in our new whitepaper.

Check out this article from our very own Vijay Yajnik, head of U.S. Medical, Gastroenterology, who spoke with Brian Terreri, one of the co-authors of a first-of-its-kind white paper on multidisciplinary care models (MCMs). We’re honored to be a part of the One x One Summit Series Coalition, a multistakeholder working group aimed at advancing care for people with inflammatory bowel disease (#IBD) and disorders of gut-brain interaction (#DGBI) using MCMs. https://lnkd.in/eMdxv9kq
