On March 28th, 2024 (Thursday), Teach For Japan and DHL co-hosted the "Girls Empowerment Workshop" - Gain insights into your potential and future! This event is part of the GoTeach initiative, a collaborative effort with the DHL Group. It aims to provide numerous children with new inspiration and stimulation by connecting them with DHL employees who support the global economy daily, thereby infusing them with fresh energy. On the day, 40 female junior and senior high school students participated in a talk session with leading women from around the world and took on a workshop challenge to create a "racing suit of the future." The talk session featured Juju Noda, a racer fighting on the world stage and DHL’s Formula E Ambassador, along with Iona Neilson, Formula E's Senior Sustainability Manager, Manuela Giani, Head of DHL Motorsport Division in Italy, and Koyanagi Kanoka from DHL Global Forwarding Japan. They shared their journeys across borders and gender barriers, the importance of having dreams and goals, and the mindset for facing obstacles, which visibly ignited the spark in the participants' eyes. It was a time that truly encouraged everyone to courageously pursue their own paths in life. In the workshop challenge, the participants were divided into groups to create a unique "racing suit of the future," themed around sustainability. By leveraging their everyday learning, uniting their will and abilities within their teams, and interacting with others, the atmosphere was filled with smiles and brimming with new energy. It was an opportunity for growth, allowing the participants to express their autonomy and re-acknowledge their wonderful capabilities. Mr. Hiroshi Suzuki (Suzukan), a board member of Teach For All, will be speaking at the 'OECD PISA Latest Results Asia Launch Symposium.' Date: December 6, 2023 (Wednesday) Location: @University of Tokyo, Yasuda Auditorium or Online The symposium will feature the presentation of the latest PISA 2022 results and analyses, focusing on Asian countries. It will also discuss the latest trends in student learning and well-being based on the evidence. November 20th (Monday) marks 'World Children's Day'. Established in 1954 by the United Nations, it aims to foster mutual understanding among children worldwide and enhance their welfare. Teach For Japan aims to achieve a Japan where all children, regardless of their region, type of school or socio-economic circumstances, have access to a quality education in order to reach their full potential. The mission of Teach For Japan is to recruit, encourage and prepare talented people to become inspiring teachers and leaders to provide a better education for every child in Japan. For two years at a time, Teach For Japan fellows will focus particularly on providing their students with the necessary 21st-century skills, mindsets, and behaviors to have increased life opportunities in an increasingly more global and complex world. Under the slogan of “changing the world from the classroom”, Teach for Japan will contribute to establishing a society, where all children have access to quality education.
