Add one line in Common.css in the Arabic Wikibooks

Status:    Done

I am writing since two years a a german textbook in the spanish Wikilibros. Now I adapt the this german textbook to the arabic wikibooks - Deutschkurs für Anfänger. I needed a special feature not yet implemented in Wikibooks. Two years ago I had posted my request for a TextInputField_without_button at mediawiki.org. See my question in mediawiki.org - TextInputField without button. The suggestion from User:Ciencia Al Poder was to add in MediaWiki:Common.css the following code:

HI, I need the help from an Administratorǃǃ I need a SysOp to add for me in MediaWiki:Common.css the following code:

.nobuttons input.searchboxSearchButton, .nobuttons input.mw-ui-button {display:none;}

This code allows a special feature that I need: a "Text Input Field" that serves as a scratchpad - with no other function. You can see in the spanish Wikibooks/Wikilibros how it worksː Curso de Alemán Para Principiantes con audio/Lección 033a; Curso de Alemán Para Principiantes con audio/Lección 124.

An Admin did it for me in the spanish wikibooks already two years ago, there it works fine. Now I ask for the same change (amendment of Common.css) in the arabic wikibooks. I can't find any admin there. --Thirunavukkarasye-Raveendran (talk) 17:32, 31 October 2015 (UTC)

Great! Thank you very much! Большoе спасибо! I would like the same thing for the englisch and the german Wikibooks. In the english wikibooks I was not very successful contacting an admin: Help of an Admin wanted (my request was a little bit ignored). In the german wikibooks the things are a little bit more complicated: [1] - my request was not fulfilled, after a short discussion (they said: there is already a similar and more advenced quiz-feature in the german Wikibooks and proposed that I discuss this feature for further improvements of wikibooks. I did so but nobody responded and it disappeared forever in the archiv. - [2], [3]. - But this allready available quizz-funcion is totally different, it does not fulfill my needs (article training in differently and arbitrarly sized units). --Thirunavukkarasye-Raveendran (talk) 09:05, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
I can not overrule local administrators on dewikibooks. As to enwikibooks, QuiteUnusual is also a steward and you can find him on IRC or on meta. Ruslik (talk) 17:28, 1 November 2015 (UTC)

Suitable username ?

Status:    Done

Sorry if this belongs some where else, but this is just an initial query and I don't know if there's an issue at all. For the same reason, I've not interacted with the user.

The user Yahootechnicalsupport was created on November 9th. So far no contributions, but the name seems to imply some sort of authority, which could be confusing to unexperienced users.

Would a request for an user name change be appropriate? Regards --Knud Winckelmann (talk) 08:30, 12 November 2015 (UTC)

Yes, I think so. Ruslik (talk) 20:22, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
Marking as done, since the question was answered. Matiia (talk) 17:57, 18 November 2015 (UTC)

Requesting a rangeblock review on 168.94.0.0/16 at enwiki

Status:    Not done

I am requesting a rangeblock review on enwiki be reviewed by WM staff. The range Is 168.94.0.0/16. The block reason is because they belong to in-store computer but they're not an open proxy as the user mistakenly believes. While the range does have a history of bad editing I think the parameters can be modified so logged in users can still edit. Thanks for your help. --168.94.238.22 17:38, 27 November 2015 (UTC)

WMF staff do not review locally issued blocks. The global volunteers, who actually review requests on this page? can not override local administrators, whose decision is final. Ruslik (talk) 09:46, 28 November 2015 (UTC)

Import 2

Status:    Not done

First of all thanks to User:Stryn for the last import. Could you also please import w:de:Wikipedia:Beobachtungsliste to Help:Watching pages/de? Thanks, Impériale (talk) 16:36, 11 July 2015 (UTC)

This should be definetly imported Mediawiki because the link "Hilfe" on this page links to this page on Mediawiki. --Impériale (talk) 12:32, 12 July 2015 (UTC)
Hi @Impériale: - So, do you need an XML import of that dewiki page over here, right? Best regards. —MarcoAurelio 10:27, 21 July 2015 (UTC)
I don't know, what is a XML import? --Impériale (talk) 15:46, 29 July 2015 (UTC)
@Stryn: Can you assist here? I think that no import is needed as the manuals are now hosted at mw:Help:Watching pages/de. Best regards, —MarcoAurelio 11:29, 26 August 2015 (UTC)
de:Hilfe:Beobachtungsliste can't be moved (or import) to mw:Help:Watching pages/de. The page on MediaWiki is different to the one on the German Wikipedia, and it also uses the translate extension, so it's not possible to overwrite the page. I think it's possible to import "Hilfe:Beobachtungsliste" to "Help:Watching pages/de". But isn't it enough if it's only on German Wikipedia? --Stryn (talk) 13:42, 26 August 2015 (UTC)

Any progress with this? Matiia (talk) 18:06, 18 November 2015 (UTC)

Import is not necessary for any reason. If you copy some text to the translation, just mention it in the edit summary per Terms of use#7c. If some information is missing from the "master" (source/English) page, please add there. Nemo 09:57, 30 November 2015 (UTC)

Deletion of articles

Status:    Done

Hi, Please delete the articles which has been tagged as RFDs by me on ne.wiktionary. The tagged articles are present in this category. Regards, Tulsi Bhagat (Talk) 17:08, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

@Tulsi Bhagat: Why did you tag the pages like "Indija" and "sixty-one" for deletion? PiRSquared17 (talk) 20:36, 10 November 2015 (UTC)
@PiRSquared17: Becoz of en title. IMHO, It's better to place deletion tag rather than creating redirects. -- Tulsi Bhagat (Talk) 08:01, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
Does the Nepali Wiktionary only use Nepali titles? Most Wiktionaries allow words in any language. For example, en:wikt:उदाहरण is not an English word. An exception is simple.wiktionary which only allows English words. I do not understand why these pages, many of which were created by a native Nepali speaker, should be deleted. PiRSquared17 (talk) 16:15, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
I don't found any such policies on newiktionary but policies should be made for allow creating other lang. words. In short, delete only nepali wrong titled articles. Tulsi Bhagat (Talk) 06:26, 15 November 2015 (UTC)
Almost Done. -- Tulsi Bhagat (Talk) 01:49, 30 November 2015 (UTC)

Status:    Done

I need en:Wikipedia:WikiProject World's Oldest People/Future supercentenarians deleted as per en:Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:WikiProject World's Oldest People/Future supercentenarians (3rd nomination). It has over 5,000 revisions and won't let me delete it. Thanks. --CambridgeBayWeather 11:21, 28 November 2015 (UTC)
