Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) might be keeping a massive secret from husband Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) having recently had a night of passion with former stepson Junior Knight (Micah Balfour), but it is Ian who is hiding something from her in next week’s EastEnders

The Walford entrepreneur is set to raise suspicions from his family when he begins acting suspiciously as son Bobby’s (Clay Milner Russell) 21st birthday approaches.

Bobby’s girlfriend Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) first feels Ian’s wrath when she tries to corner him about plans for any celebrations, snapping at her as he anxiously checks his phone.

Later in the week, Peter is concerned when Ian acts weirdly about Bobby’s birthday, and lies about where he’ll be the following day.

As Cindy and Peter try to get to the bottom of what’s going on, Ian tells them he’s thinking of running for the council again.

However, Peter is still suspicious when Ian later heads off to a council meeting, and sets about making some enquiries.

Meanwhile, Cindy isn’t happy when Ian says he’s attending a leadership course in Manchester, but she can’t go with him.

She’s then left stunned when Peter reveals that he checked with the council and knows Ian is lying, and he demands to know what his dad is really up to.

Just what is Ian hiding from his family?

There’s also anguish ahead for Bobby as his birthday approaches, insisting he is in no mood to celebrate, despite Anna and Freddie Slater’s (Bobby Brazier) attempts to surprise him.

Could his mood be in any way linked to Ian’s secret?

EastEnders airs from Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC Two this week, with episodes streaming from 6am on iPlayer.
