What a unique experience! Recently, my students of the Master in Digital Entertainment Business were fully immersed in an Experiential Week in collaboration with Fremantle Netherlands. A world leader in creating, producing and distributing content IP in media and entertainment.
In preparation for the Experiential Week, our students received a crash course in the form of a full day of workshops by Fremantle experts, covering aspects such as format development, sales, dealmaking and strategy. In addition, they were challenged to design and present an innovative business model.
During the actual Experiential Week at the Fremantle office, the students - in 2 teams - had the opportunity to apply their knowledge gained from classroom courses such as Strategy in Entertainment Industries, Marketing in Entertainment Industries, Business Modeling, Copyright Law and others. Throughout the week, professionals from Fremantle were available to provide invaluable expertise, information and data.
The students worked very hard for four consecutive days before presenting their findings to Fremantle's expert jury on Friday. I can say that we were all impressed with the quality and creativity of the ideas presented and that Fremantle intends to continue our collaboration next year.
A big thank to all the engaging people at Fremantle who provided the preparatory workshops, gave advice during the Experiential Week, provided feedback on the final pitches and organized the celebration drinks at the Fremantle office: Hidde Pel, Raul ter Linden, Theun Termijtelen, Manon van der Hoek, Kris van Veelen, Olivia Grigoriou, Marijke Somers.
And congratulations to all the students: Sophia Bozzo Magrini, Elena Coloma Plumley, Gianmarco Miranda, Matteo Mostardini, Elena Del vecchio, Alessandro Fantini, Francesco Pejrone, Federica Santocchia. Have a great 2nd semester of the Master in Rome after the summer.
