Recently, our first ever battery storage project, Cameron Storage, became commercially operational. The standalone 16.4 MW (32.8 MWh) lithium-iron-phosphate battery facility is located next to our Cameron Wind Farm in Cameron County, Texas. It will support the Texas power grid and increase reliability amid fluctuations in supply and demand, therefore reducing pricing peaks. “This is our first battery storage project, and it marks a significant step in our efforts towards supporting the transition towards renewable energy,” said Willem Malda, Ingka Investments’ Renewable Energy Portfolio Operations Manager. “It is part of our EUR 1 billion commitment to invest in transitional technology solutions.” Read the full story: https://lnkd.in/gGahx6eA

Exciting times!
This week marks another great milestone for the first major offshore wind project on the Norwegian continental shelf. The contract between Ventyr and the Norwegian government has been signed and today we met with the Minister of Energy, Terje Aasland. Ventyr SN II is jointly owned by Parkwind and Ingka Investments. We also have a strategic partnership with NorSea Group, a Norwegian supplier company with extensive experience in ports and bases. “Ventyr is excited to take the next step in the development of the Sørlige Nordsjø II project. Together, we are fully committed to drive positive change through innovation in renewable energy and bringing this project to fruition while delivering tangible benefits to local communities and to Norway as a whole. We are honoured to be part of Norway’s renewable energy future and contribute to its ambition to deliver 30 GW of offshore wind power by 2040.” said François van Leeuw on behalf of Ventyr. OX2 and Ingka Investments have submitted a permit application to construct the #offshore energy hub Neptunus off the coast of Blekinge in the south of #Sweden. The application is for up to 207 wind turbines, along with large-scale offshore #hydrogen production. - The energy hub Neptunus is one of the first of the next generation of wind farms. By producing renewable energy and hydrogen, Sweden will be able to secure energy for sectors that can’t be electrified. The oxygen from the hydrogen production can also be used to oxygenate the bottom water in the Baltic Sea and improve biodiversity, says Emelie Zakrisson, head of offshore wind development in Sweden, OX2.
