HIV is a virus that attacks the body’s immune system, damaging the body’s ability to fight off infections and disease. If left untreated, HIV can lead to AIDS. HIV/AIDS prevention efforts require collaboration between public health professionals, community organizations, and partners at national, state, and local levels.

The National Prevention Information Network’s (NPIN) strives to support public health professionals in their HIV/AIDS prevention efforts. NPIN offers a collection of HIV/AIDS information, such as articles, trainings, and fact sheets from the CDC and other health organizations. Public health providers can also subscribe to NPIN’s newsletter.
