Spelling Bee
Each year, nearly 80 students from Nebraska and western-Iowa compete in the Omaha World-Herald's Midwest Spelling Bee. The students earn the right to compete in the Omaha World-Herald Midwest Spelling Bee by winning their county or district bees.
2021 Omaha World-Herald Midwest Spelling Bee Information
The winner of the 2021 Omaha World-Herald Midwest Spelling Bee is Hannah Fernandes. Hannah is an 8th grader at St. Stephen The Martyr in Omaha.
Hannah will now compete with other top spellers to become one of the 10-12 finalists who will travel to Orlando to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee on July 8.
The Bee will be hosted in person at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort.
