Diamond Comic Distributors, the world’s largest distributor of comics, graphic novels, and pop culture merchandise, has expanded their partnership with DSTLRY. Diamond has signed a multi-year worldwide distribution agreement with DSTLRY to exclusively distribute their products to the North American and international comic book specialty market.

This exclusive partnership, beginning on July 15, 2024, makes DSTLRY’s products only available through Diamond. Life #1 by Brian Azzarello, Stephanie Phillips, and Danijel Žeželj will hit FOC on Monday, July 15.

The deal also sees DSTLRY move into Diamond’s Deluxe Tier of publishers, which features preferred coverage in the PREVIEWS catalog and expanded support on the PREVIEWSworld website. DSTLRY will move into the Deluxe Tier beginning in the September 2024 PREVIEWS catalog.

“Diamond has more than 40 years of expertise in ensuring comics and graphic novels are available every Wednesday when comic book stores open. They’re continually evolving to meet the demands of the retailer, remaining an integral foundation to the comic ecosystem,” DSTLRY co-founders Chip Mosher and David Steinberger said in a joint statement. “DSTLRY could have never enjoyed the stability and success of its debut year without Diamond. Solidifying that partnership with an exclusive deal was an easy decision.”

DSTLRY announced in April 2023, introducing a new publishing foundation for creator-owned comics through its founding creators Mirka Andolfo, Brian Azzarello, Marc Bernardin, Elsa Charretier, Becky Cloonan, Lee Garbett, Jock, Joëlle Jones, Tula Lotay, Jamie McKelvie, Junko Mizuno, Stephanie Phillips, Scott Snyder, James Tynion IV, and Ram V, alongside founding editor Will Dennis. The publisher’s debut offering – the short story collection The Devil’s Cut – quickly sold out, followed by similar sold out first issues from series Gone by Jock, Somna by Cloonan and Lotay, Blasfamous by Andolfo, White Boat by Snyder and Francesco Francavilla, and The Blood Brothers Mother by Azzarello and Eduardo Risso, and Spectregraph by Tynion and Christian Ward.

“We’re thrilled to continue our relationship with DSTLRY following a truly amazing first year,” Geppi Family Enterprises Chief Purchasing Officer Tim Lenaghan said. “They’re innovating the comic book medium in both editorial and production, and we can’t wait for retailers and fans see what they have prepared for the rest of the year and beyond.”

Diamond Book Distributors will continue to exclusively distribute DSTLRY’s hardcovers and collections, beginning with the launch of the Somna hardcover by Becky Cloonan and Tula Lotay on July 17. Somna was nominated for a 2024 Eisner for Best New Series.
