Polestar announces that Michael Lohscheller will assume the role of CEO. Thomas Ingenlath, who served as CEO since Polestar’s inception, has resigned, with the change effective 1 October 2024.   Michael Lohscheller, who has previously served as CEO of Opel, VinFast and Nikola, brings a wealth of expertise in the automotive industry, particularly in navigating competitive markets and scaling businesses. Polestar will be ambitiously expanding its global footprint and its position as a leader in the premium electric vehicle market in the coming years.   ”I am honored to join Polestar at such an exciting time in the Company’s history. Polestar has already established itself as one of the most desirable and innovative brands in the electric vehicle space.” said Lohscheller   “I am very proud of what we’ve achieved together in the last seven years. We are excited to announce that Philipp Römers is joining Polestar as our new Head of Design. With over 25 years of experience in automotive design, Philipp brings a wealth of knowledge and creativity to our team. Having held key roles at AUDI AG and Volkswagen AG, Philipp is set to lead the next chapter of Polestar’s design journey.    Philipp succeeds Maximilian Missoni, who has been an integral part of Polestar's story for the past six years. We extend our deepest gratitude to Max for his visionary leadership and wish him every success in his future endeavors.    As Philipp steps into this role, he shares, “Polestar is the role model of a design-driven automotive company and it's a great honour to take on the responsibility for the design department. Polestar 4 is officially on the roads in Europe, with initial deliveries to customers in Sweden, Norway, and Germany, and more markets to follow soon. This achievement highlights our growth and global expansion, as Polestar 2, Polestar 3, and now Polestar 4 make their mark across Europe. We're also preparing for Polestar 4 production to start in South Korea in 2025, which will further enhance our ability to deliver this SUV coupé worldwide. What a week here in the US. We kicked off with the production start of Polestar 3 in Ridgeville, South Carolina. Now, Polestar Concept BST has made its North American debut, first at our Marin Space, then at the Pebble Beach Concourse D’elegance. It’s perhaps a surprisingly “loud” design for Polestar, but with Concept BST I wanted to give a clear statement that performance is part of our Brand and Design DNA. We want to bridge new electric drivetrain tech with the marvelous sports car culture. That’s why we are here today with Concept BST on the Concept Car Lawn.    But not only that: Hundreds of visitors have had the pleasure of test-driving our Polestar 3 around the Pebble Beach area this weekend, with many, many more already booked in to do the same in the coming days and weeks, at our growing number of Polestar Spaces.

Polestar 3. Manufactured in the USA Our SUV for the electric age has begun rolling off the production line in South Carolina, USA. Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO: “Manufacturing Polestar 3 in the USA is a crucial step for us. Now we offer customers in America an electric SUV that is built in America.
