All good things must come to an end but Mapletree Community Month 2024 finished on some high notes last week. On 27 August, Illustrator Andrew Tan took just two hours to equip the 𝘜𝘳𝘣𝘢𝘯 𝘚𝘬𝘦𝘵𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘱 participants with the essential skills to venture around Mapletree Business City (MBC) to sketch the surroundings. The workshop unearthed some hidden talent in our midst! That following weekend, we were thrilled to host the passionate Urban Sketchers Singapore community at MBC to sketch our property's unique art installations and architecture. On 30 August, the futsal courts of MBC lit up as the eight final teams vied for the coveted Champion Trophy of the 𝘔𝘢𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘍𝘶𝘵𝘴𝘢𝘭 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘦 (Open Category)! After many intense matches, Google emerged as the Champion! Congratulations to the team! This event, together with its Youth Category, which will take place on 6 September, raised a total of $21,000 from the donations of participating teams as well as Mapletree's 1-for-1 matching donation. All funds raised will go towards supporting Mapletree's long-time beneficiaries, Boys Town and Beyond Social Services. As Mapletree Community Month 2024 draws to a close, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all our staff, tenants and partners, who joined us to make an impact in the community this month. Annually, Mapletree throws a Durian Fest, the Mapletree style! Our Singapore employees were treated to a feast of the King of Fruits and other tropical delights such as mangosteens and rambutans at Mapletree Business City. The event buzzed with fun activities, including “Guess the Weight of the King”, “Live Durian Trivia”, and a photo-taking competition. Mapletree ranked no.17 in this year’s PERE APAC Fund Manager Guide (September 2024) which tracks capital raised for Asia-Pacific focused funds. Mapletree Community Month 2024 may be winding to a close, but the community spirit was still going strong as Mapletree staff and tenants came out in force to support last week’s two events. A mobile blood donation drive at Mapletree Business City, organised in partnership with Singapore Red Cross, saw over 120 individuals dropping by to make the life-saving donation. Due to their efforts, the donation drive resulted in over 76 units of blood being collected which can save about 230 lives. Thank you to all who donated and a special thanks to Medtronic's volunteers for helping to manage the donation process! On Friday, the crowd turned up once again to support the 14 competing teams at the Mapletree Futsal Challenge Qualifiers. The atmosphere was just electric, and a competitive, but fun time was had by all. The day ended with eight teams qualifying for the knockout stage and finals; congratulations to Google, beIN Asia Pacific, Nike, Cohu, Inc. and Mapletree’s own four teams. We look forward to an awesome showdown this Friday, do come down to support the teams if you are in the area! This week, we will have an urban sketching workshop and community sketch walk with Urban Sketchers Singapore, as well as the Mapletree Futsal Challenge Finals. We are pleased to mark our investment commitment in Tamil Nadu, India at a recent event, 𝘛𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭 𝘕𝘢𝘥𝘶 𝘐𝘯𝘷𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘭𝘢𝘷𝘦 2024, organised by the Government of Tamil Nadu which was held in Chennai.   Honoured to have Thiru. M.K. Stalin, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, in the presence of Dr. T R B Rajaa, Minister for Industries, Investment Promotion & Commerce, Government of Tamil Nadu, Mr. Arun Roy (IAS), Industries Secretary and Mr. Vishnu Venugopalan (IAS), Guidance MD laid the foundation stone for our first project in Tamil Nadu in Gummidipoondi, Thiruvallur district in North Chennai. Singapore’s Consul General in Chennai, Mr Pang Tze Chiang, Edgar was also present with us on the dias.    As part of Mapletree's plan to scale-up investments in India, we proposed to set up multiple industrial cum logistics parks over the next five years across multiple locations in Tamil Nadu such as Gummidipoondi (Thiruvallur district), Sriperumbudur (Kanchipuram district) and Hosur (Krishnagiri district). The proposed investment is approximately INR 2,000 crores and will generate significant employment for over ~5,000 people.   The first development project to be launched in North Chennai will be a 1.1 million sqft industrial cum warehousing park across 47 acres and will play a significant role in further boosting the industrial ecosystem in the northern part of the city. #Mapletree #MapletreeLogistics #TamilNaduInvestmentConclave2024 #NorthChennai #industrial #logisticspark

Our colleagues in Poland recently had a team bonding session over a polymer plaster workshop! The team was introduced to polymer plaster as well as a demonstration of coaster creation and decoration techniques. Armed with an array of tools and materials, they unleashed their creativity and created their own beautiful and unique masterpieces.
