Now approved for trial

edit

The bot is now authorized to run for a seven day trial period; please see Wikispecies:Bots/Requests for approval#Rosibot and the links found there for references to dates, bot history, and discussion. This procedure is in line with Wikispecies' praxis regarding how bots are finally approved. –Tommy Kronkvist (talk), 03:19, 26 November 2018 (UTC).Reply

@Rosičák: Please note that Rosibot is now fully approved as an autopatrolled Wikispecies' bot. Please see the User rights log for details. Best regards, Tommy Kronkvist (talk), 18:59, 3 December 2018 (UTC).Reply

Time to extend the task?

edit

Hi. Thank you for the very good edits so far. As per our earlier discussion on User talk:Rosičák#Tasks for Rosibot, do you perhaps think it's time to up the game and add a bunch of more edits to the task list? Ideally, instead of only replacing ==Taxonavigation== with =={{int:Taxonavigation}}== the following int: tags should be added as well:

==={{int:Overview of species}}===
==={{int:Overview of genera}}===
=={{int:Name}}==
==={{int:Synonyms}}===
==={{int:Synonymy}}===
==={{int:Homonyms}}===
==={{int:Heterotypic}}===
==={{int:Homotypic}}===
==={{int:Monotypic}}===
==={{int:Eponyms}}===
==={{int:Eponymy}}===
==={{int:Patronyms}}===
=={{int:Publications}}==
=={{int:References}}==
==={{int:Primary references}}===
==={{int:Additional references}}===
==={{int:Links}}===
==={{int:External links}}===
=={{int:Vernacular names}}==
=={{int:Nomenclatural acts}}==
==={{int:Nomenclatural acts}}===
==={{int:New names}}===
==={{int:New taxa}}===
==={{int:Purpose}}===
==={{int:Usage}}===
==={{int:Example}}===
==={{int:Examples}}===
==={{int:Notes}}===
=={{int:See also}}==

Please note that some of them starts/ends with two equals signs and some of them use three – the reason is of course that the different words are used on different paragraph levels. The headline "Nomenclatural acts" can use both levels, and is therefore listed twice.

What's your opinion and thoughts about adding (some of) them to Rosibot's task list? Best regards, Tommy Kronkvist (talk), 08:34, 8 February 2019 (UTC).Reply

Ovšem zabere to čas.--Rosičák (talk) 03:19, 9 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I know it's going slow. However, this can be accelerated if Rosibot receives a higher editing frequency now that is 0.1111 Hz. This means that it will make 6 edits per minute, about 400 per hour for 9600 per day. All articles are edited in 69 days. (which is, of course, the ideal condition since since December when I booted the server at least 10 times restarted, which can mean a time loss of up to 50 hours after each restart if I'm not at home and I can not get it again)
Fortunately, all headlines will not last so long because they do not appear on all pages.
Another way to speed it up is to take many people or if Rosibot can work on multiple tasks at the same time.
You are right to say there are more variants of titles. Multi-level title is not a problem. Replace only one equator before the title and one after the title. Problems are primarily gaps between the equator and the title. Rosibot now solves the second option == Taxonavigation == (with spaces) at the first heading. The first option == Taxonavigation == (without spaces) has already been completed.
All the tasks you wrote are ready and ready to finish. However, it takes time.--Rosičák (talk) 03:19, 9 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the update. I will check the situation regarding the editing frequency in a few days, and get back to you with information. Also, please note that the "New names" and "New taxa" headlines often also includes a digit for the number of new taxa, for example ===New names (4)===. This should probably not create any big problems for the bot, but I want you to know about it. –Tommy Kronkvist (talk), 20:15, 9 February 2019 (UTC).Reply

Wrong namespace?

edit

Regarding =={{int:Example}}==, =={{int:Examples}}==, =={{int:Purpose}}== and =={{int:Usage}}== (and their "errors" 1, 2, 3 and 4) they should of course not point to pages in Main namespace. As all the other lemma for localizations they relate to pages in the MediaWiki namespace, as follows:

I hope this information can be of help? Regards, Tommy Kronkvist (talk), 20:41, 18 March 2019 (UTC).Reply

Authored taxa

edit

I see Rosibot is now replacing ==Authored taxa== with {{int:Authored taxa}}. We have tweaked that to replace that line plus {{taxa}} with {{Taxa Authored 2}} which handles and updates to current practice. Would it be possible to instruct Rosibot to do this? I update to current format whenever I edit author pages, this would save lots of accumulated time. Neferkheperre (talk) 20:37, 7 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi, it is possible after completing the current task. You can completely replace the {{taxa}} template with {{Taxa Authored 2}} template. Is it also a wish of the community? Templates are generally easier to change their content.--Rosičák (talk) 08:04, 8 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Template:HET

@Rosičák: hi Rosičák please stop changing the template:HET. Orchi (talk) 16:35, 11 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

OK STOP..., but I think there is a will to remove or replace a template.Rosičák (talk) 17:01, 11 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Holotype

edit

Will you be doing a similar replacement for "Holotype" and "Type locality" in the mainspace pages? --EncycloPetey (talk) 00:13, 18 October 2019 (UTC) @EncycloPetey::Hi, I'll do it gradually. "Holotype" in progress. "Type locality" is done.--Rosičák (talk) 16:18, 20 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

"Reference"

edit

Hi Rosičák - nice that all of == References == have been changed to =={{int:References}}==. But there's quite a lot of pages where is was just put as == Reference == (singular!), and these have escaped the bot and need converting to =={{int:References}}== (plural!) too - can you set the bot to do this, please? Thanks! - MPF (talk) 19:09, 21 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Rosibot error: changes March as part of names

edit

Hello @Rosičák:, please stop your Rosibot. It changes March into int:March, even if "March" is just part of a name, like Spencer Le Marchant Moore, example on page Alternanthera pennelliana. Kind regards, --Thiotrix (talk) 16:55, 6 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Next error Amsactarctia "Marchese Saverio". @Rosičák:, please stop your bot or I have to block it. --Thiotrix (talk) 17:22, 6 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
After replacement of "Marchantiophyta" at page Anastrophyllum, I had to block the bot for 2 hours. All edits should be checked, if there are more mis-replacements. --Thiotrix (talk) 17:27, 6 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Thiotrix:Hi, thanks for blocking and stopping. There was an error in the code that caused an eventuality that I didn't realize. If you unblock me, I can fix it and try to be more careful.--Rosičák (talk) 18:41, 6 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Rosičák:, thank you. I have unblocked the bot. --Thiotrix (talk) 18:49, 6 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Replacing of english month names

edit

Hi @Rosičák:, in my opinion, you should stop the full automated replacing of english month names using Rosibot. How can you be sure, not to replace an author named "March"? Or not to alter the title of a scientific work like "List of plants collected on a voyage to Chile from March to June 1858"? With the next months, it will become even more difficult, as April, May, June, July and August are common pre-names, and are expected to be found in many author citations. These replacements should better be done semi-automatically with AutoWikiBrowser, where you can have a look on each page. Or for the best, the dates should be replaced to the standard ISO format YYYY-MM-DD. --Thiotrix (talk) 08:21, 7 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Thiotrix:, thanks for the feedback. These are serious arguments. Given the discussion at the village pump, where my folk put on my dog's head, I propose to abolish the internationalization of those three months (January, February, March), if the bot is unblocked.--Rosičák (talk) 19:10, 7 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
OK, I will unblock the Rosibot. --Thiotrix (talk) 19:45, 7 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Rosičák:, all the edits that the bot is currently doing are breaking the display, because it removes a "=" sign. Can you please stop it and correct this? --LamBoet (talk) 21:22, 23 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

You'll need to go back and fix all of this bot's recent edits. It was mis-balancing section labelling [2]. --EncycloPetey (talk) 01:29, 24 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

removing {image} from taxon pages

edit

Hello, Please explain why after adding {image} template to half of taxon pages, you are now going back and removing it. The original idea is great and now it is being abandoned. Why? Kind regards, Nytexcome (talk) 05:22, 8 September 2020 (UTC) @Nytexcome:Hello. Based on community consensus, this template should only be added to SPECIES (multiword taxa). For higher taxa, it is undesirable if it was not entered by the responsible person from our project. So removing ...--Rosičák (talk) 16:23, 8 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Nytexcome: See this Village pump discussion. The complaints have mostly been about the captions that go with the images. Monster Iestyn (talk) 21:33, 8 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

....@Rosičák: The removal has now stopped any explanation? @Nytexcome: and for info@Monster Iestyn: your comments should be on the Pump not here. Go for removal to the point addition stopped and then discuss and vote, please otherwise we have a complete mess. Andyboorman (talk) 06:41, 9 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
