We are delighted to see Hydrogenious LOHC Technologies receive a EUR 72.5 m grant for its Blue Danube Project, which will build the first industrial-size LOHC hub in Southern Bavaria by 2028. The project will release 1,800 tons of green hydrogen per year to supply industrial off-takers in the Danube region. AP Ventures believes that the transportation of green hydrogen is a critical part of the future hydrogen economy, and the scale-up of Hydrogenious’ LOHC technology is a positive step in this journey. #hydrogen #energytransition #technology #venture #environment

We are pleased to see the partnership between AP Ventures portfolio company Infinium and Borealis. Infinium’s pioneering eNaptha, produced using emissions that would have otherwise been released into the atmosphere, will be used by Borealis’ facility in Finland to produce low-carbon emissions polyolefins. Last month was AP Ventures’ six year anniversary - looking back on the last year, we are pleased with the progress made and excited for more to come! AP Ventures is growing, in the last year we have opened a San Francisco office and recruited new team members into our London office. Our portfolio is growing too - we have also made investments in direct air capture company Airhive and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) developer Aether Fuels. We have seen plenty of milestones in our portfolio, with successful fundraises for Infinium, ZeroAvia, Immaterial and HPNow, among others. Our portfolio companies continue to gain recognition for their role in the energy transition through the CleanTech 100, the XPRIZE and the European Hydrogen Tech 25 List. The next year will see us continue to invest in innovative technology companies in the hydrogen and CCUS space, driving forward the decarbonisation of hard to abate sectors and we look forward to supporting our existing portfolio companies as they scale up! #venture #hydrogen #CCUS #decarbonisation

AP Ventures’ Senior Investment Manager James Diaz-Sokoloff enjoyed sharing his perspectives at the co-hosted McKinsey & Company and King & Spalding event – Taking Stock of Hydrogen in Europe.   Our key takeaways: ➡ While the ratio of announced projects to FIDs has been low, the underlying progress of many projects towards FID is building momentum but more progress to accelerate projects to FID is needed ➡ There is potential for Europe to simplify compliance and a growing voice for pragmatism on CO2 feedstock compliance for #eFuels and #RFNBOs ➡ Europe should take stock of the market-making clarity being offered by the Japanese and other jurisdictions in catalysing blue hydrogen and ammonia supply and offtake   Thank you to McKinsey and King & Spalding for hosting the event in #Berlin, Markus Wilthaner for moderating, and the fellow panellists for their insights!
