Last week, we visited Oslo to present our Detailed Design for The Great Viking Journey. This experience allows kids, friends, and families to become Viking researchers by exploring artefacts and solving hands-on challenges in fun, engaging ways throughout the new Museum of the Viking Age. Step by step, visitors reconstruct a Viking life. This incredible interactive experience will be part of the new Museum of the Viking Age, opening in Oslo in 2027. We are collaborating on this project with our partners: Cultural Innovations (narrative), Torden & Lynild (spatial design), REDRUM (AV), Bruns (fit-out), and Tactile Studio (accessibility). Last week we went to Oslo to present our work to date on the Great Viking Journey to the new Museum of the Viking Age team. We are incredibly proud to be part of such an amazing project which will bring to life the people of the Viking world and the museum's collection for children and families.

Today we visited our friends at Frameless to see their new immersive masterpieces - from entering the mind of Van Gogh to exploring the streets of Grimshaw’s Victorian London. At CI we believe that experiences like Frameless can transport visitors and foster new levels of understanding, engagement and empathy with the world around us.

Great to see Heather Douglas, one of our talented exhibition designers, back in the CI office after her maternity leave! Heather will be working on a range of our exciting international design projects - welcome back Heather!

We had a fantastic research visit to Brooklands Museum yesterday! We especially loved the new Aircraft Factory, which tells the story of 80 years of aviation design and manufacture at Brooklands through hands-on activities and exhibits. Most evident was the incredible passion from the museum volunteers for the museum and its collection. Thank you to the countless interactions with volunteers who brought Brooklands' rich history to life for us!

We had an exciting trip last week to kick-off our newest project in Serbia alongside clients, stakeholders and the project team. We are thrilled to be appointed to work with the iconic Aeronautical Museum Belgrade on the reopening of their museum. A massive thank you to the team for hosting us. A3 Architects d.o.o.

We are back in the UK after a busy American Alliance of Museums Annual Meeting and Expo. In a beautiful setting by the historic Baltimore waterfront, we enjoyed some inspiring sessions and workshops around the theme of “Thriving museums, healthy communities”. We were struck by the thought that is going into building and rebuilding the visitor experience in the post-pandemic world. Thank you to everyone who visited us at our booth - it was great to see some familiar faces and meet so many new people! We look forward to continuing these conversations.
