AEA Consulting is one of the world’s leading cultural consulting firms. We have over two decades of experience assisting clients in the cultural sector internationally, helping them to define, plan, and achieve their long-term goals. Specialists in facilities, operational, and strategic planning, we collaborate with public and private cultural organizations and their funders in the U.S., U.K., Europe, Asia, and Australia to help them realize the contribution that culture can make to communities. We work with our clients from the initial conceptual planning of a project through feasibility studies and detailed planning to implementation and start up, advising and supporting them all along the way. AEA’s work stands on two foundations: a strong analytical approach, and a close understanding of and empathy for the goals of stakeholders in the cultural sphere. We approach problem-solving with curiosity, creativity and integrity, and our multi-disciplinary and multi-national team brings to our work a deep understanding of a wide range of cultural environments and issues.

We’re thrilled that AEA Consulting is part of the team led by David Chipperfield Architects that has been shortlisted to take part in the final stage of The British Museum’s International Architecture Competition for the Museum’s renovation of its Western Range Galleries! Earlier this year, David Chipperfield Architects partnered with an expert team of consultants, including AEA, to submit a bid to the competition, which will feature a renovation of a third of the Museum’s overall gallery space. The competition attracted 60+ applications from across the world, and the winning team will work with the British Museum to develop designs for the Western Range that respond to the Museum’s sensitive historic buildings, ambitious decarbonization plans, and the ongoing process of reimagining the display and care of collections. AEA’s scope of work will focus on the economic and social sustainability of this historic renovation project. We’re honored to be part of the team which includes: Adamson Associates Architects, Alan Baxter Ltd, Arup, ATELIER BRÜCKNER, Atelier Ten, Lobe Lloyd, Julian Harrap Architects LLP, Plan A Planning, Reusefully Ltd, and Neal Shasore.

“Culture needs a healthy nighttime economy around it to help drive footfall, safety, and activity going on around them. They don’t live in isolation. Lots of cultural institutions use their impact on nighttime economy to make a case for funding. When they make capital investments on a building, their impact is often the nighttime economy.” -- Carly Heath, Nighttime Advisor, Bristol, on the symbiotic relationship between cultural institutions and night life. Read more about how the two sectors can work hand in hand in this story by Annie Bares and Bella Stenvall.
What can the cultural sector learn from our colleagues leading changes in the night-time economy? AEA speaks to four nightlife experts from across the globe: Carly Heath, Nighttime Advisor of Bristol, U.K.; Michael Rodrigues 24-Hour Economy Commissioner of Sydney, Australia; Brian Block, AICP, Nightlife and Entertainment Services Manager in Austin, Texas, U.S.; and CAMILO OSPINA GUZMÁN, Vice President of the International Nightlife Association and Chairman of the Board of ASOBARES Colombia.
