The rapid deployment of Generative AI (GenAI) has seen varied success across organisations. Over 50% feel held back by unclear business cases, and concerns about misuse are also prevalent when it comes to rolling out enterprise-wide. Interestingly, 39% of those who have deployed GenAI report little to no impact on their organisation. For many, GenAI is primarily enhancing personal productivity, though we’re starting to see more transformational use cases emerge. People are worried about automation taking their jobs. But is it a fear founded on evidence? Firstly, there is anecdotal evidence and secondly there is data. In our recent documentary by David Savage, "AI and Robotics: A Near Future You’re Not Prepared For", Conan Bradley (co-founder of Bioliberty) told us that robotics would never replace humans in the field they work in, occupational therapy. Whilst white-collar jobs and roles in call-centres or a travel agent (for example) might come under increasing pressure the data points to augmentation rather than replacing your role. Our Digital Leadership Report Pulse Survey suggested that just 1% of roles within the technology industry itself would be replaced in the immediate future.
