In this role, he oversees the overall progress of ICS activities and has a close understanding of their position in the global transport market. He acts as a link between projects in different countries, aligning them and supporting their progress with solutions and roadmaps. He also helps teams make technical decisions and reviews risks and mitigations along the way. By working across nations, Savino engages with different work styles and approaches to problem solving, which he considers to be an interesting cross section. A journey through time! For three decades, we've been at the forefront of equipping London's underground with communications-based train control (CBTC) signalling solutions. To mark this milestone, we took some of our partners on a nostalgic ride aboard a "38 Stock" heritage train. This iconic train was once the epitome of modern engineering, and has served the London Underground for nearly 50 years. New Sydney Metro Milestone! 🚉 We are proud to announce that on August 19th, 2024, we celebrated the launch of the Sydney Metro City service, connecting Chatswood to Sydenham via the CBD. We’re excited to share that the consortium, comprising Colas Rail (leader), Orascom Construction, and Hitachi Rail, has signed a contract with the Egyptian National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) to renovate Line 1 of the Cairo underground system. This ambitious project, valued at over 800 million euros, aims to modernize Egypt’s oldest metro line while keeping daily operations running smoothly.
