Cornwall's loss is Western Australia's gain. Andrew has an incredibly broad range of skills which led to the first hole drilled in the UK looking for lithium, discovery of a major lithium resource, his development of a novel metallurgical process for production of battery-grade lithium carbonate, and construction of a world class pilot plant in Cornwall. We had such a productive day yesterday at the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce Business Fair at Truro School. Our UK director for Imerys and Imerys British Lithium Limited board director Mark Hewson. We were delighted last week to welcome a group of #mining enthusiasts to our lithium carbonate production plant in #Cornwall. The group were delegates from the National Association of Mining History Associations annual conference in Redruth. Over 100 attended the event spanning a week, including a presentation from our UK Director Mark Hewson. FCILT, who gave an update about both our ongoing #kaolin mining and our new lithium project 🚗 The group enjoyed a tour of Imerys extensive #Cornish sites including the biggest kaolin mine in the world! Moving on to #lithium, they were fascinated to see our pilot production plant in action and hear about how we will be in full scale production before the end of the decade. Thanks to Ben Cordier, our head of process, for his excellent explanation and tour 👌 Our lithium resource will allow us to supply enough #lithiumcarbonate for half a million #EV batteries every year for more than 20 years! 👏
