Frasers Group acquires minority stake in Accent Group Limited 👏 The British retail group has purchased a 14.65% stake in the Australian retail and distribution firm. Continuing its acquisition spree, the Sports Direct owner has said the move will enable it to grow its presence in Australia and New Zealand, describing the region as a 'key market in the group's ambition to become a leading global sports retailer'. As part of the deal, Accent will offer Frasers the chance to propose a new director to join its board. Frasers CEO, Michael Murray commented: "Accent has built an incredible ecosystem of sports and lifestyle brands in Australia and New Zealand. FURLA appoints new CEO 👏 The Italian luxury goods brand has revealed the appointment of Eraldo Poletto as its new Chief Executive Officer. Poletto is returning to the brand he once served as CEO of between 2010 and 2016, and joins from Italian shoemaker Santoni, where he also held the role of CEO. A fashion and luxury veteran, Poletto has over 14 years of CEO experience, serving at some of the industry's biggest brands including Salvatore Ferragamo, Stuart Weitzman, and Diesel. The previous owner, Bridgepoint, put the company up for sale in February 2024 after heavily investing in the brand, doubling its store estate and strengthening its distribution network with a new warehouse in Staffordshire.
