Incredibly safe or hidden harms? The case for postmarket surveillance According to this helpful analysis by Bradley Merrill Thompson, RAC: "AI devices are currently producing fewer MDRs than the medical device universe in general." However, despite the exponential growth of AI medical software, they still represent a small minority of all medical devices. Additionally, the majority of reports to the FDA for AI medical devices are for "incorrect result", which is perhaps the easiest harm to identify.
