Collaborating closely with the production team, we crafted multiple layers of effects to add depth and capture the electric energy of Knuckles’ iconic red power. #BTS look at our delivery drone work on The Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes! 🐍 🐦⬛ At this point in #TheHungerGames universe, the delivery drones were not as advanced as those seen in the later trilogy. To highlight this, our team were tasked with animating several drones crashing into the arena and colliding with tributes, accompanied by a lot of FX dust interaction and detailed destruction as the drones broke apart. This part of our work on the project was also full of challenging integration of the drones into the CG arena. Working closely with Jeff Fowler & Tyson Hesse, our team developed a set of base face shapes for #Knuckles! ⚡ These included key phonemes like "AH," "EE," and "OH," along with expressive brow and mouth shapes. These templates helped our team maintain Knuckles' attitude across all Outpost shots, allowing to refine each expression to match the action and camera angle.
