CASE STUDY | STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS ’S2’ Ghost VFX’s Ivan Kondrup Jensen, who previously received an Emmy Award for his work on Star Trek: Discovery, once again led the team to provide visual effects on the latest season of Strange New Worlds. Thank you to everyone at CBS for allowing Ghost VFX to embark on another thrilling adventure aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise. “The final episode is often a challenge due to an ever increasing complexity and the sheer volume of shots. Both the younger more agile “Gorn younglings” and the larger, heavier “adult Gorn” character are seen in an EV suit fighting our heroes in the final scene. Ghost VFX Supervisor Martin Gårdeler shares what went into delivering over 200 shots for The Hunger Games - The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes: "The snakes in the scene were the most difficult because we had to deal with some tricky things when it came to interacting with the actors. One of my favorite shots was a close-up of the snakes wrapping around Lucy Gray. We replaced everything about her except her face and hair and simulated some of her clothing, adding snakes wrapped around her arms and clothing."
